I guess losing one of your best players is like your trophy wife leaving you for another bloke isn't eay.
But when she leaves you for the fat loser guys for money, it's next-level humiliation.
Now remind me again how relevant and successful your mob has been since getting busted for cheating?
Maybe it was that time supercoach Pagan sent Fev to full back.
Enjoy Vossy
Future 4th and no Dean bid?Watch him try to nab Kemp for a future 4th this trade period. Then we’re talking!
You’re so bitter you lot, really bitterI guess losing one of your best players is like your trophy wife leaving you for another bloke isn't eay.

I honestly cant stand the bloke and have given him a lot of crap over the years. But yes, he would be very handy for a year or 2If May is gettable I would 100% have him for a couple of yrs to help Weitering out and while HOF and Dean develop

Who says he’s gettableIf May is gettable I would 100% have him for a couple of yrs to help Weitering out and while HOF and Dean develop
I wrote something similar and 6 million supporters jumped on me.I'm for the wrecking ball approach, Crippa and Charlie traded out, dealing with Port and Sydney. Would be one of the biggest trades of all time, verging on a Navy Andrew scenario but....
Based on the Crippa go home for family reasons factor, and Charlie wants 'outa town' to surf, and throwing everything at the Butters/Reid Premiership reset
Carlton in- Reid
Butters
Dean
Ison
Sydney 2nd Round pick, used for Dean
Eagles 2nd Round pick, sent to Port
Carlton Out Crippa (Eagles, and Swans F1 '25, and Warner) would give Eagles three top ten picks
Charlie and future 1st (Swans)
TDK (Aints)
JSOS (Dogs)
TDK & JSOS Compo picks (both to Port, with McGov and the Eagles 2nd)
Based on the premise that we don't need the two big forwards, that HOK/Pitto/Reidy take the ruck, Kemp returns to Def to sort JSOS' position, that Butters and Reid combined with Walsh, Jagga, George, Cera, Lord et al is bona fide A Grade Midfield with serious Premiership credentials.
It's affordable
Dare to dream Andrew
My understanding is we dont want picks.Anyone wants Charlie it starts with this year's and next year's first.
For a team like Sydney, they will play finals next year with a Curnow and he will catapult them to top 4, so I expect a second and a player such as McDonald as well.
We aren't here to make other teams better.
Only a madman guilty of offering other peoples $1.1m in 2018 for Sheil and $1.2m in 2019 for Cogs would be capable of this level of generousity.$1.85 million over 8 years for a $800k ruckman who is injured more often than not.
Thats insane. Genuinely insane.
Good luck to Tom. No way he could turn that down. Congrats
There is a flukers chance SOS will come up roses with this. If Swann and co. alter the ruck rules to return to favouring the jumping rucks, he could quickly go to the top of the tree. Just some chance Ala NicNat.Only a madman guilty of offering other peoples $1.1m in 2018 for Sheil and $1.2m in 2019 for Cogs would be capable of this level of generousity.
This. IMO, how ive read between the lines of what wright has been saying, is that we will be going at ready made players as first preferenceMy understanding is we dont want picks.
Yeah that's a good point Coona. My issue with Tom is & has always been his disposals after he wins the ruck/clearance. Absolute ruckman by hand & foot. There is a flukers chance SOS will come up roses with this. If Swann and co. alter the ruck rules to return to favouring the jumping rucks, he could quickly go to the top of the tree. Just some chance Ala NicNat.
That’s why we get into bed with Gold Coast, they have 2 academy players likely first roundIf the Aints put in a bid on Dean, It'd eat our TDK compo pick and move that back to the 20s.
Have a mate who is a HUGE dees fan. Says May is a gun player, but a massively toxic person. Do not want.If May is gettable I would 100% have him for a couple of yrs to help Weitering out and while HOF and Dean develop
The picks are step one. Draft/trade collateral or whatever you want to call it. Whether they are taken to the draft becomes the debate. My understanding is we dont want picks.
Tend to agree, but if comes up as a salary dump for a couple of years while HOF rehabs and Dean develops it probably becomes an attractive proposition. Reckon we have enough strength to cope on a sunset deal. His IP in an abbreviated block couldn’t necessarily be a bad thing.Have a mate who is a HUGE dees fan. Says May is a gun player, but a massively toxic person. Do not want.
What it does mean if we bring a free agent in we may still end up with van 1 because the TDK deal is so maasiveLike I said earlier... the AFL aren't going to invent some mythical band 1+ tier compo pick...
As much as we wish that to be the case, it isn't gonna happen...
Best we could possibly hope for, is given JSOS is probably leaving too and compensation is calculated by net loss, the combination of TDK + JSOS's new contracts gets us two band 1 picks so we end up with pick 10+11 (assuming Draper leaves * as well, they'll get band 1 compo for him, pushing our pick back another spot).
But even that is more wishful thinking...
If Saints and SOS bid on Dean it would damage any future dealings between the clubs. It would be an arseh*le move after the TDK thing. If the Aints put in a bid on Dean, It'd eat our TDK compo pick and move that back to the 20s.
Well you’ll definitely know nepotism is at play if Ben Silvagni comes out of retirementIt's not St Kilda, it's SOS.
We are now linked to SOS junior, no surprises there.
Even if he does, it’s still negligent to pay that much to a ruck. Even the best ruck in the comp. There is a flukers chance SOS will come up roses with this. If Swann and co. alter the ruck rules to return to favouring the jumping rucks, he could quickly go to the top of the tree. Just some chance Ala NicNat.
That’s a bit naive for mine.If Saints and SOS bid on Dean it would damage any future dealings between the clubs. It would be an arseh*le move after the TDK thing.
Gives him an out, you'd be falling for it.I doubt that. Too much at stake now. He can't and won't
