JSOS compo for Beau McCreery, who says no?
Why? We just got Frank the Tank working properly... and we're going to be ditching a couple of our small forwards who are cooked in the modern game. But we're still going to have Durdin, Motts, White, and F. Young as small forwards.

They have Marshall, arguably a top 5 ruck in the competition.

Heath combative 22 yo forward/ruck with a lot of promise

Dodson arguably the best ruck from the last draft. Basketball background Aust level. More than capable to play Key at either end along with.

SA journeyman Harry Biyd, with outstanding figures and a quality showing in his one AFL game.

Really is crazy recruiting for mine to spend what they are on Tom De Koning.
And…. Issac Keeler Forward ruck from SA

Yeah, sadly. Boots in hand, and packed bag. Looks like a clean out of his locker?

Pretty sure the players clean out their lockers after our season ends.

I could be wrong though.

Can someone confirm.

If Charlie had a great season, we would not entertain trading him for 1 second...

The value has been diminished - a little... it's only 1 season after all...

Given he's contracted for 4 more years, his value is still pretty high. It's hanging onto him that worries me... another poor season next year and his value will significantly decrease...

That’s the multimillion dollar question, really. Is his poor 2025 the new normal or an injury/form/motivation temporary slump that’s the outlier.

We all know he can be way better than he was this year. Even he must know that. Club and Charlie need to really look into it and do due diligence. Just rolling up next year and hoping probably isn’t good enough. What really was going on this year and can it be addressed in the off-season?

I don't want to be an over reactor as that's not usually my vibe but damn I'm pretty co concerned about the state of our list. Worst time to do a rebuild with an average compromised draft, lack of available free agency and trade targets and high quality players literally walking out the door.

Can someone tell me it's going to be okay?

Yeah you're probably right, if he HAS made the decision to leave, there's not a lot we can do about it.

I still think we'd be better served upping our offer by a bit ($50-$100k) than going out and trying to find a replacement.

We'd been paying Gov $800k per season since he was recruited until 2023 (after then I'm unsure how much P/S) but now there's a cap increase, I think it's a bit of a slap in the face to offer JSOS a 'Take it or leave it' deal that's less than what McGovern was earning 8 years ago. And McGovern's form isn't as reliable as Jack.

Or maybe the club has offered him what the club think he's worth. If other clubs have offered more, doesnt mean we should too.

If the club loses TDK, JSOS and Charlie in one offseason you have to question what the club is actually trying to do

Because it sure as shit won’t be winning games anytime soon

Havent won a whole lot of games with them in their time at the club. Not sure it matters if they're here or not.

Jagga, Dean, Newman back, a bulkier HOF back late 2026 (or 2027), Walker (I'm sure)

Unfortunately, the list is an absolute mess right now.

No small forwards of AFL standard.
No high-speed, high-possession elite ball using mids or backs.
1 AFL-level tall defender.

It is looking like we will enter the season with maybe the worst squad we have had since a year or two before we won the final from 9th.

I keep seeing this but one of them actually has to want to move to Carlton.
Yep, aint never gonna happen.

The only one that may be remotely close is if Charlie's still keen on heading a little further north, and we can lure B.King from GCS who's been rumored to POSSIBLY wanting to return to Victoria. Has been linked to the filth previously, but supposedly that was more through the Graham Wright connection.

It's a mighty long bow, but if we secured King as part of a deal for Charlie, I could live with that.
