Recommitted Jordan Ridley [UFA 2029] - name was floated for a move to Brisbane in 2025, stayed

Mostly just sounds stupid imo. What comes around goes around, no competent list manager is that short sighted

Those are the reasons why it sounded very Essendon

Even if it costs them Starcivich and Ah Chee?

So AA player Houston to Collingwood 12 months ago for nothing wasn’t broken but 2 in 2 out for Lions is the end of the world?

Got it.

Pies gave up a future first + John Nobel + Joe Richard’s for Houston.

It was unders and fairly similar to what Brisbane is losing. It would be unders for either Allen or Ridley by themselves. Let alone both plus Draper

Houston was coming off back to back All Australian years and has barely missed a game with injury since his career started.

Pies also signed Perryman as a free agent on $900k.

You don’t rate Matt Rosa?
Matt ‘Surfer’ Rosa is off with the Pixies when it comes to developing a cogent drafting strategy and retaining required players on the list.

Ridley late first is probably the best Dons going to get even if contracted for 4 more years due to his injuries over the past few years. If they want more they could pay some of his wage. Dons have no one high up to pay and no reported big targets coming in. That said I think they could convince him to stay if they land a good footy fitness & conditioning boss. But if not holding onto him wont be a good idea.

If he's going to the Lions then 16* F1 2026 46* 48* 61* Robertson for Ridley 22 25
It's likely a bid for Sweid will come before the 2nd round anyways.

Pies signing Perryman as a free agent has nothing to do with the Houston transaction or its value.

Houston’s value was high and he still was given away for peanuts (partly because Port overvalued Jack Lukocious)

I maintain Ridleys injury history is irrelevant to his present trade value due to his long term contract. Teams aren’t trading for him to sit on the bench injured.

So you can assume they intend for him to be healthy and can pay up accordingly.

Was talking to a player agent late yesterday and he mentioned he had heard that the two clubs are initially miles apart in their valuing of Ridley.

His words were "20% chance this gets done at the moment, or he finds a way to another club"
