Because it's you hosting, I seriously considered it. But because the them is YouTube Kids, I just can't. YouTube Kids is a horrific invention and it drives me nuts when my girls are watching it. I can't put myself through even more of it.

If I knew Alvin and the Chipmunks were eligible I might have thrown my hat in the ring.
Chipmunk Punk was the first album that I got as a kid for Xmas.
There were some bangers on that album, it was all killer no filler.
I loved that album as a kid but needless to say it hasn't aged well.

I'm all for hosts going for what they want, but there also has to be the consideration that a group of grown-ups (presumably) probably aren't going to fancy a list of songs effectively aimed at pre-schoolers.

I didn't enter a nom because I thought the rule was that it could only be on YouTube Kids, not main YouTube. However, I'm pretty sure a lot of these noms are. Wonky Donkey for sure. I play it at least once a week for my class.
I think it would have been better just as a kids songs round, without the YouTube Kids stipulation. I had hundreds of noms ready to go.

I have been waiting on this theme for years. Not for preschoolers. For me, and for everyone who is young at heart. Palindromes only pipped it the last time I both won and hosted because at least we have had a Disney round albeit that was in my very early days of the competition. Conversely we had never had a round similar to palindromes.
Music from kids’ shows and movies is great.
I actually have a long list of songs that I’ve wanted to nominate but felt that I couldn’t since they aren’t addable onto a playlist. This recurring issue is what inspired this theme. It was an opportunity to nominate songs that might otherwise never be nominated due to being downvoted as the one song external to the list, and turn the usually annoying inability to add to a list as a once-off positive/even requirement.
I’m ok with people abstaining for any reason. I myself am frequently in/out of the contest for one reason or another and always have been. Guaranteed top 10 is a bonus. In any case I have surgery this morning so a short round is a good round as that means more recovery time not to mention finals watching time. There’s a fair chance I would’ve skipped the round had I not been host but entered as I was able to listen as they came in but this turned out even better. Thank you to those who did enter. I really enjoyed your songs. It’s going to be hard enough to narrow my votes down to 5 and pick a billy as it is. Quality over quantity.

I considered this but decided against because:
-it’s much closer to a redux
-it doesn’t address what inspired this theme in the first place
-many actual kids’ songs would be ineligible
-people would try and sneak through more mature tunes and give a nebulous link
I didn’t want any of those things
Aww . No, if anything it was the opposite. I didn’t accept YT Kids since those links aren’t shareable. Hence a YouTube clip of a song on YouTube kids.
I suspect most of your songs ready to go would’ve been eligible (or at least the most commonly played track would’ve been eligible).

I was supporting the Crows before the game but the Crows fans booing Quaynor for having a homophobic slur used against him make me kind of glad they lost. I just have to hope Pies lose the PF now.

Yeah, I just don't enjoy searching through lists purely to find something to nom, if that makes sense?
I have a huge library of tunes I love that I'm constantly adding to, and like the process finding one I love to fit a theme - but scanning through a list of Beatles artists/previously nommed/kids songs to offer up a choice feels like a token effort, if that makes sense?
They're perfectly valid themes and good ideas, just not for me.
