Jed Walter is a physical freak. Think Charlie pre-knee injuries.

At this point he's more athlete than footballer and learning the nuances of the game is where he's at, kind of your classic key forward who will take some time, but when he clicks he'll absolutely bloody click, much like Charlie.

There's a reason he's said the player he models his game on is Charlie. A key difference, though, is Jed chases and tackles like his life depends on it.

I don't think the Suns would make that trade tbph, unless he really, really wants out.
His pressure chasing and effort is A grade for a KP footballer, off the charts when he builds his endurance up…

He's gone. Was leading the young blokes astray. Bad influence.
If he’s getting the young blokes taking part in what he got done for up in Gold Coast then as much as I love him as a player he has to go, very disappointing given his talent but that sort of influence should have no place at Carlton

Yep they're changing the rules because coaches keep slowing it down
Won't change anything. Coaches have always slowed games down when it suits AND sped them up when it suits. Always and forever. In all team sports. Meaningless rule changes that change nothing but make armchair experts think the games undergone a dimensional transition.

Is Walter a possibility or media muck? Oodles of talent, one of the better young kpfs in recent times.

Looks like the media are finally waking up to the reality that moving a contracted franchise player like Charlie isn’t simple. The lazy “hurrr hurrr Ollie Florent and McLean straight swap” talk has dried up, and now they’re being forced to actually think outside the box.

I still think that GC would prefer to give up Ben King over Walters. Walter’s value to them is that he’s a local kid - no go home factor and a number 3 pick shining a light on their academy.

Easier to sell that King is ready to return home, but we get a bit more value for him before he hits free agency. Bring in Charlie as an instantly marketable player (ask the AFL for some ambassador money…), who will lead their forward line for a few years while mentoring Walter’s and Read.

Interesting situation with Ben King being a pre-agent whereas Walter is still on base contract. Walter could be concerned about breaking into the team and tempted by a big offer.

Why the obsession with getting another expensive key forward in a trade with Curnow? We need pace and ball skills, Go after the Bailey, Gulden, Warner, Humphries, Wimott Mcluggage, C Cameron, Greene, Holmes, Dangerfield types, i don’t necessarily mean these players but this style.

We can find 2nd or 3rd forwards to kick 20-30 goals in Charlies absence if it comes to it.

100%. Fix the wings and half forward line.

Don’t think Walter would be expensive.

Good summation, I’m letting Charlie walk everyday of the week if Walter is the centrepiece of a trade.

It’s not about next year for us, it’s a consolidation year in a mini reset. Walter is a future star in the making

Spare a thought for Ollie. His brother is a ratbag and he's been expelled for it so it's gotta weigh on him.

Although, I thought his football form went noticeably down when Elijah joined but now he's not in the team Ollie's form has been back again. Not all brothers want to play together I guess, especially younger ones who may think they are living in the shadow of their sibling.

I think many would see a 2 for 1 exchange getting us a KF replacement (of sorts) as well as a pace/skill outside midfielder could be a reasonable outcome.

Voss was very blunt about him on SEN and can’t remember hearing many negative comments from him about our players over the journey. Almost feels like Dogs re. Jamarra.

Hard to tell if it’s a public “get your act together” message or if it’s already a foregone conclusion that he’s paid out or traded.
But in the Essendon presser was talking about how we missed Lij

Certainly interesting to see how this plays out

3 GC Academy kids?

I think they need to involve Humphrey.

But also, nobody is going to offer us a deal that we should actually take.

What makes you think that? I think it will be 2x1st rounders and a player (2nd-3rd round equivalent), if the picks are ok then we use one to target another quality player.

I dont think players make it public they want out, unless they think it can get done. I’d assume Charlie in his chat with Cox, spoke of what he and his management think will need to get it done.

GC on a Quick Look could trade pick 6, Flanders (pick 10) and Moyle or something else and still be ok to take their academy kids, pick 15, a F1 and Flanders as the picks would be lower.

Sydneys 2 academy kids are 24th and 25th in the latest rankings which means they could offer 9, F1 and Florent, or 9, Hayward and Florent or something similar.

Ther could be pick upgrades or other names that come up or even others we want included even if we needed to add more.

I dont see why GC would want Charlie when they already have multiple forward options, if King was included id be open nut if its Walter, it would be because they think he wont cut it.

I think i just see two players like Wilmot and Bailey for Brisbane for example a better outcome for us, we then go and find a forward like Voss, Riccardi, Gruzewski types who would be cheap.
