I'll put it this way: he helped to make Carlolton a worse team than they already were before he became their list manager.

It's not possible for him to make the Aints worse because they are so incredibly shit already.

As an aside: I read an article about John Greening today which brought back memories of the infamous day that Jim O'Dea (on Allan Jeans' instructions) put him in a coma. Greening was 10x better than Figjam and would have won the Brownlow that year easily had it not been for the dirty Aints dog who king hit him. After he was knocked unconscious, another Aints player actually stomped on Greening while he lay prone on the ground!

Despite being a Floggingwood hater, I loved the way Greening played - brilliant in all facets of the game.

May the Aints rot at the bottom of the ladder forever.

Yes, Greening's injury was a terrible football tragedy, one that probably cost Collingwood 3 or 4 flags at least, if he was as good as everyone i have heard speak about him say he was.

It's definitely the most gutless act of thuggery in VFL/AFL history, but I definitely don't think modern day St Kilda players or supporters should suffer for it.

Speaking of Yabby Jeans, I met him once at a Rec Link Grand Final (i was there as a spectators supporting a good cause)

He was a great man who took time to take care of homeless and disadvantaged people, whether he did that out of guilt for Greening i don't know, he was just a very nice elderly gentleman when I met him, and also Blight employed similar tactics on Dermie and Dipper in the 1989 Grand Final.

Regardless i feel privileged to have met Yabba, just as I have Jim Stynes, Ron Barassi and even the infamous recluse Bruce Doull (he walked past me once on Queen St)
