Voss was overruled on Houston and accepted the team call. Highly unlikely he'll be overruled on Curnow in his last year of a coaching contract if he wasn't getting a 'game-changer' back the other way.

TDK will be fantastic as a #1 ruck. Although not great value at that salary AND the cost of losing Marshall.

Although...... what if that was half intentional? St Kilda pay (A LOT) more salary to upgrade Marshall for TDK, get a
ruckman who is four years younger AND get paid a first rounder (?) for their troubles.

Basically using cap space to buy a pick and improve their list profile. Not the most insane idea.

I’m not so sure. He was an ok ruck for us. I still think there was a lot of that salary on potential.

I guess we’ll see next season!

What's your sudden obsession with being ruthless. There is another name for being "ruthless"... it's called being a campaigner. John Elliott wasn't "ruthless"... his ego and hubris almost destroyed the club.

And it's not the reason why they're successful. It's because the AFL has never looked closely at them. What's happening with the case the AFL was investigating them for? You know... the one where guys like Selwood were being paid under the table? The AFL has been looking after them for years.

Zac was an outside runner in his junior year. Essendon got him in and tried to turn him into an inside beast. We have outside run, we have the inside beasts. Getting someone like Butters will be better for the club.

I have never been convinced that TDK will develop into what would be considered a top ruckman. Even so, paying 1.8 million a year for a ruckman is insane, no matter how good he is. Thanks, St.Kilda, for doing us a favour (twice).

By my reckoning, we have come out on top where both TDK and Jack are concerned.

Need midfielders who can actually spread and create separation up the field, which in turn doesnt make 'that' kick out of D50 so daunting and the players will actually go for it a bit more.

Atm we are dead set witches hats up the field.

Most players around 50-60 metres out at kick outs are witches hats that aren’t even watching the kicker…

I love all this trade banter re Charlie but do we honestly really think Voss would let him go coaching for his future and especially to geelong.

Quite apart from what Voss would prefer, I can't see the Club letting him go for anything that could be considered unders.
We can't afford to cave when he has 4 years of a contract left. Can't stop players leaving under Free Agency, but this is a whole lot different. WE get what we want or forget it, he can stay.

He wants to stay and said so at exit meeting, but ‘is in limbo’ at the moment

Even in the article on Channel 7 it says he "remains a priority" to Carlton and just that Port is one of a few clubs that have asked Carlton about him as he is still out of contract.

Not even Carlton would spend the whole year (he played every game) developing a small forward/mid we desperately need and then trade him for what would be very little (given he is out of contract)

I'll be shocked if Saints get a 1st for Marshall... the guy turns 30 this year...
