Okay. We've probably had enough of a free for all.

There are still forum and site posting guidelines, and you will abide by them.

A few seem to be of the opinion that now is a good time to have a crack at moderators or moderation. I'd rather like to discourage that impulse so I'm going to make it explicit: a moderator on this forum is a poster like any other, and can share their views and have free use of the forum like any other. If you feel a post breaches the rules report it; attacking a mod for their posting or objecting to a post purely because a moderator said it is grounds for an infraction and some time off.

From here, if you cannot speak civilly, you will not be allowed to participate.

According to some on the right it wasn't reported on by the mainstream news services initially, was only reported on after it became a big thing online. Basically they were saying it was because it was a black on white crime, leftist woke media etc etc

Because of the amount of times he was released by judges on cashless bail, despite the amount of violent crimes he committed and his own mother and sister begging the judge to have him moved into a mental institution.

Then he was also caught on camera after the stabbing saying he "Got the white bitch" although in a call with his sister from prison he later went on to say he thought she was reading his mind and that he had 'materials' in his brain that the CIA used to make him stab her.

Bloke was a certified nutjob and judges just kept letting him out into the public.

Then there's the fact mainstream media refused to cover it until the story got too big.
 
Got to admit I do feel bad that my first thought was "Guess he wasn't such a master debater after all"

He did not deserve to be shot and killed for his rhetoric. I really cant see this leading to better outcomes.

That said given his rhetoric I'm very apathetic to this news.

Yes, he should've.

His sister was violently attacked by him 2 years ago and she and their mother begged the judge to put him in an institution and she released him on cashless bail instead.

Well, if you believe some of the stories, one judge kept releasing him, then referring him to her own mental health business for treatment, which received government funds.

Having said that, I've seen other info saying 12 separate judges kept letting him out, so not sure how much truth there is to that one.

So its a failure of the US systems.

And there will be more murders in that nation and we will all move on because we are Australian and and footy is on in about 30 odd hours.

A failure of the justice system, for sure.

One particular judge who let him off(the one with the mental health business she referred him to) hadn't even passed her final exam to become a judge, yet presided over one or more of his casees.

There is a massive disconnect between law enforcement and the justice system inn many countries but it seems especially bad in the USA.

Sympathy for the family, none for the person himself

Anyone who defends this stain in general, but especially after his hypothetical daughter being r*ped scenario, has massive massive issues.

Unfortunate deaths are just the price we have to pay, right Charlie?

He was wrong. About plenty of other stuff too.

Not sure pointing it out at this time in your place is the best thing to do right now.

One of the reasons I come on here is to hear the other perspective, so I might read something that changes my perspective, gives me a new idea or way of looking at things. More and more that pursuit has not been worthwhile as I advocate for engagement not vitriol.

Anyway, if you have kids, give them an extra loving hug today. And tomorrow. And the day after that.
