LOL you think we're coming back from last week? Nicks was totally out of his depth. A year wasted. We better not extend him next year.

Let's see how next season goes at first. No point in extending him.

Also Walker will probably retire after 2026 or 2027 so Fogarty and Thilthorpe better get themselves sorted out better.

Too afraid to take the game on and the Pies really took advantage defensively. Some players were down as well.

That wasn't our problem, skill execution/composure was, until the ticking timebomb this side had blew up. Noting that this is a team that can go ice cold at the contest for 10 minutes against good inside midfield groups (we had escaped a couple of times prior to the Pies, seeing this happened against Port and Brisbane).

When it comes to taking the game on, we were a lot better at it last week then we were in our last two outings against the Pies, who pinned us in our defensive half. Problem was we kept overhitting kicks into our forward 50, alongside some utter braindead moments from all of our forwards when they had opportunities. I.e. what the **** was Fogarty thinking selling candy when he's one of the best set shots in the league, or Tex taking a quick snap on the boundary 45 out when we needed a goal, or Thilthorpe going for a 1-2 when we just needed a goal slammed in. Smacked of players who had the moment get to them instead of just trusting themselves to do the basics.

I'd say the best thing for the team is to make a decision on Nicks after 2026.

It's a trait with this club that's genuinely maddening, I can't think of a finals series since '98 where we've actually exceeded expectations. Is it the players? Is it the coaches? I can't say that I know, but I was an ankle biter the last time we won a Grand Final and I'm feeling more and more that I'll be an old man when we next win a grand final.

I keep thinking back to 9:45pm on Saturday Aug 16th when we beat the Pies.. the 24 hours after that as a club and the fans was at an all-time high and we were a genuine chance to win the flag.

Since the news broke that Sunday evening about Rankine, we were doomed. i have never been so embarrassed as a crows fan. first team in the AFL era to finish top and go out in straight sets and the first team in 42 years to do it. Only the Crows can pull this off.
Next year we will finish 7th-11th. Expect double up games against Geelong, Brisbane, Collingwood and Hawthorn lol

Post Pies match 24 hours was certainly a high.
To then proceed to miss out on NWM, scrape through against west coast, lose Rankine for the finals series and get thumped by Pies and Hawks in the finals series was an epic fall only the AFC could produce.

Why is the Adelaide Footy club the way it is? why do things never change? why since 2005 have things continue to repeat?

In 2005 we had fegus watts who Neil craig didn't want to develop so he went home and Brad ottens in the 2004 trade period forced out of Richmond and we still passed! And supporters will say ben cousins on van berlo cost us or we were unlucky.

Nope we weren't unlucky, the club doesn't care much about winning premierships. They do these half rebuilds and hope to pinch one. The recruiting manager of the crows isn't a very difficult job you're basically assembling the defacto state team as that's what the crows represent.

The only thing that would have saved this rebuild was landing NAS and it turns out port had a 10 year deal on the table at 2m and we had 3 or 4 years at significantly less but 'prepared to go higher' so he signs some bizarre 2 year deal with st kilda.

What doesn’t kill you, make you stronger and the Adelaide Football Club isn’t dead.

Thrilthorpe, Curtin, Rachele, Michaelaany, and Worrell all have massive improvement left in them. All can become All Australian level players.

Then you have Rankine, Pedlar, Soligo, Nankervis, Milera, Peatling, Cumming and Fogarty will have years of consistent high level in front of of them.

Add Draper, Dowling, Edwards, and Ryan who have untapped potential and we have a premiership window of about 7 to 9 years. I’m very excited about the future of this football club and the things it can and will achieve. Untapped potential that no one knows what will happen.

I think him and Port were super confident they could get it done. And then both parties realised they didn’t have any assets to give up.

You said this opinion around the time and I gave it a like because you'd hate to think there was a chance and we missed it . Two years tho such a strange contract, not even to FA.

Nah, some people find change hard. Its why some people stay in work places, miserable and hate every minute of it but they dont look for another job. I suspect he stayed because all his St Kilda team mates got around him. Same thing when Holland backed out of a trade with us in the early 00s. Couldnt leave his team mates. Which is hilarious because two years later he was forced out and had to go to the Demons. Bet he regrets that decision.

Not saying NAS will regret it but hardly convinced it was the right move successwise.
