I'm not trying to censor your opinion. I'm merely explaining my view on Newcombe's stoppage threat and where I would have Mullin: the exact place he was for Daicos, Butters and McCluggage. What you are suggesting would be quite a radical redesign of how he has been tagging midfielders but there's no issue with you putting it out there.
McCluggage did not start at all centre bounces, correct?

This. Don’t want to change too much.

Honestly starting to think Old Mate is a troll.

Always seems to post negative or contrarian things, or ideas that seem to fly in the face of what's best for us (like trading for Oliver or not going for the best match-up or line-up).

Ok, I'll play.

How was I negative in suggesting a proactive move?
How was I contrarian when I didn't quote anyone in my initial post?

And I have zero idea as to what the Oliver thing is about.

I love your confidence.. but i just feel sick in the stomach as its our biggest rival in Hawthorn. Yes we are the better team than them, but I still feel sick as its Hawthorn
And that is one of many emotions that we get as supporters.
Fair to say Pies supporters feel the same with somewhat recent Lions history.

But history isn’t playing this weekend and we are the better team. It’s just about ensuring the players play their role and don’t get caught up in their emotions.

Our system beats theirs if we stick to it.

No player starts at all centrebounces. Your idea of Mullin starting on the wing and then joining up with Newcombe post-CB is pretty radical though, given that Newcombe is the best centrebounce player in the game currently.
Jimmy Bartel spoke brilliantly last week about Lingy being the most important player in the team when he was firing, and if he went into the middle, one of the others moved out and played the role of wherever Lingy was prior. He highlighted this as Mullin is now playing essentially playing the same role.

If we can't beat the Hawks after they've travelled two weeks in a row + don't have Day, then we just aren't good enough.

Imagine them beating us, winning the flag and then bringing in Day + Merrett... Surely not.

Honestly.. Adeleaide absolutely were shocking last night on every line... We will be a different story, and we are primed.
Agreed. They are only going to get better next year and beyond one would think. If we can't beat them in a knockout final now with so much in our favour then will we ever?

Substitute should be Clohesy. He's a tough nut who gives 100%. He can take a good mark as well. He is so much better suited for finals pressure than Clark.
I would find that very hard to believe. I think it's out of Knevitt - Clark - Bews - O Henry - Clohesy. And in that order.

Given the predicted conditions Clark might just get his nose in front.

Oof the thought of bringing Ollie Henry in for a game like this terrifies the shit out of me
I think Ollie is a long way back in the pecking order.

As unlikely as it appears (due to injury), I think Stanley is probably the only one that forces his way into the starting lineup from the Brisbane game. Not sure who misses out if that's the case - maybe Bowes to sub. But assuming Stanley isn't right then I think it's probably out of Clark or Knevitt for the sub role.

According to a Hawks mate, he reckons the intel on both Ginnivan and Gunston is that if it was a home and away game this week then both would probably miss. They expect both to play, so in some respects that's a risk it appears the Hawks are prepared to take into a prelim final.

As much as Stanley would be a handy addition to go up against Meek, Geelong look highly unlikely to pick him unless he's 100%.

Don't have to go that far, they'll be in the bin by half time
There should actually be legislation passed that you reach the age of 16 and can no longer wear a wizard hat to a Hawks game. I was there Easter Monday and the sight of grown men in their 50's wearing wizard hats was actually all kinds of screwed up. It remains one of the saddest things I've seen in my time as a footy fan.
