I don't like aisle seats. Always getting people walking past you and others on the stairs blocking your view.

Level 4 was the best that Silver members could get, but its weird that you got Q14 as that isn't normally part of the AFL members section.
i like them because i don't have to walk past other people. Plus easier to swing your legs into the aisle to let them past
But I like it because you don’t have someone on the other side and don’t have to squeeze past other people to get up.
Plus when you can get silver tickets I buy a spare seat with the kids memberships so have space on both sides of us if we get the aisle.

That's quite likely what has happened. Tickets in basket would be considered on hold and therefore not available.
There is normally a fair time between that starting to happen and an official announcement
yeah i went back and looked using a friend's barcode and after a few refreshes got standing room, so they weren't all sold when the message popped up

Random Q but why does the MCG never have 100K for non-GF matches, even when it is completely sold out?
Both games this weekend would easily crack 100K but for some reason they won't - it's not only MCC, but I suspect they sell more standing room tickets to the GF itself? If so, why not for prelims?

It's a really good question which I don't fully know the answer to. The MCG seems to struggle to get over 95000 for any other game. It is said to have approximately 5000 spots for standing but we know there are some sold.
Maybe it is a combination of less standing room as you say, people not showing up (looking at you Medallion Club and those stupid packages that give you a ticket to all MCG finals - I bet some just go to the Grand Final) and maybe even people buying family tickets for 4 when they are the same price as a family ticket for 3 (extra room anyone?). Maybe some unused coroporate boxes?
MCC always has walk up as an option but with an overall capacity of 23000 it would be glaringly obvious if most of those 5000 spaces were there. I went to MCC last year for a home and away game that ended up standing room only so I am tipping the same this weekend.

had a mate today with 2x Gold and 1x Child Silver, logged in at 11:45 and ended up with standing room

The Ticketek app is a buggy piece of shit, can’t access my tickets on the app to send to other people.

I've been having the same problem the last few weeks.
Open the confirmation email on your phone. Click on view ticket and take a screen shot of each ticket and then share the image.
I had to do this in week 1 of the finals and everyone got in by scanning the screenshot without a problem
I have had to do the same this week.
