A few seem to be of the opinion that now is a good time to have a crack at moderators or moderation. I'd rather like to discourage that impulse so I'm going to make it explicit: a moderator on this forum is a poster like any other, and can share their views and have free use of the forum like any other. If you feel a post breaches the rules report it; attacking a mod for their posting or objecting to a post purely because a moderator said it is grounds for an infraction and some time off.

From here, if you cannot speak civilly, you will not be allowed to participate.

I didn't think what he said was that bad, I've read much worse in this thread for starters. I guess he got "cancelled" because he's got a big audience and because he said the right were trying to say the shooter was a lefty, that was unforgivable i suppose.

I didn't see what Kimmel said on the show, though he did a pretty good reel in the immediate aftermath of the shooting itself. Was pretty respectful towards Kirk i thought.

That was kinda Kimmel's point - there has been a lot of contradictory and incomplete information come out and the MAGA side have been ignoring any information that he was one of them.

dunno i haven't been following it closely to be honest. Dunno whats fact or fiction.

Initially there was something about the shooter being a republican however was inactive and didn't vote in the last 2 elections, than there was some commentary from the family saying in recent years the shooter moved to the far left side of political views.

Anyways after watching the bit i didn't think Kimmel said anything that was cancel worthy. Wasn't really disrespectful to Kirks death as much as he was just throwing barbs at Trump. Which he does pretty much every show.

That’s the point. Nothing in what Kimmel said was disrespectful to Kirk or celebrated his assassination. His comments were aimed at the MAGA administration’s response.

Agree with the comments or not - they were hardly the most vile thing ever said.
