Pies look to be in for a world of hurt. Put all of the eggs in the "all or nothing" basket and came up with the nothing option. Paid heaps for Perryman and Houston who were both terrible tonight. You could easy retire Mihocek, Pendlebury, Crisp, Sidebottom, Membrey, Cox etc if you had some worthy replacements. They don't. Pain awaits.

Dan Houston played well…….

What a roller coaster ride.

Barracking for Geelong and Brisbane to beat Collingwood and Hawthorn feels a bit like allying with the Soviets in WWII.

It's obviously the right thing to do in the service of defeating the greater evil, but it also highlights the rise and status of a couple of new superpowers, and they potentially pose a more direct existential threat to us (given Curnow's apparent interest in moving to both).

But for now, just glad Collingwood and Hawthorn lost, and that both had some weaknesses exposed that at a minimum leave them second guessing themselves a bit in the off season.

Poor Nick, you can console yourself with the Brownlow at least

Think about the quality and depth of the Lions midfield for a moment too...

Neale not playing, and they still dominated Collingwood's midfield.

This is why I keep saying, we need to really focus on our engine room the next few off seasons.
No doubt BF but we need to bloody rotate them and play for each other through there as well.

Let's not underestimate Pendleburies decision to play here...

He felt a niggle in the warm up, could have done the team thing and pulled out... instead, decided to risk it and it cost his team.

Think they were ****ed if he didn't play too. Such an important influence on their team. When they saw him trudge off and then come back subbed out in Q1 that's when their intensity completely fell away.

Sidebottom had the least Sidebottom day possible. So used to having his running mate carry the burden.

Leaderless without Pendles is Collingwood.

They gave up a bit for Schultz too a couple years ago.
