Recommitted Buku Khamis [FA 2026] - requested a trade to Carlton, didn't get there

Suspect there is lots of good will between the clubs trade wise with Kennedy last year.

Can't see this one being too complicated.
Dogs will also want to get Buku to where he wants to go despite being great depth and contracted.

Buku for Brisbane’s second round pick owned by Carlton, done day one.

He probably goes for like pick 45 or thereabouts at the end of the trade period.
I won’t be surprised if we don’t take many live picks this year, with Will Darcy a sure thing and the possibility of Harley Hicks or Kobe Williams through NGA. We took two players in the MSD who already have contracts for next year so will need to cut back as is.

With El Souki and Levi West both looking like potential 1st round prospects next year, I think we’d be far more interested in Carlton’s F2, even if we have to give something up with Buku to make it happen. Though they do have their own kid to worry about matching next year..

Tell that to Adelaide fans asking for a first for Butts, who played less AFL games than Buku this year.

Carlton’s second would be about right, Brisbane’s second while not enough, would probably be where both clubs settle.
Who has said Butts is a 1st rounder??? The only post I've seen mentioning 1st rounders is the swapping of 1st rounders for Butts.

I expect it's 35 straight up or future 2nd. Blues are only drafting their F/S and NGA players this year. So they only need points. Jack Ison Listed currently at the 30-40 range for the rankings. Carroll likely upgraded to the senior list. Their 3rd tied player late or rookie b so 35 & potentially 44 are likely on the table. Dogs will try to get the future 2nd and blues will try to use 44.

He is a pre agent thats barely getting games - depends the value of contract. If the club value him $400-500k over three years for example then that would be similar value to Lewis Young that came in as pick 52. Lewis Young was alot younger and a key tall.

The club view Buku as required depth and actively want him to stay. Nothing like Lewis Young. Swap those numbers around and it’s closer.
