I think we'd be banking on a team that likely misses finals that made it this year. Collingwood probably most vulnerable but don't have a pick.

I was more referring to Maynard’s aggression. Do something to Xav and he’ll use his next chance to run through you or put some extra mayo on tackle. But he probably plays more like Vlas with his intercepting.

His kicking is sus though and it’s a lot of short safe chips.

Likely pretty high but I guess that’s the risk we’d be taking. End of the day it’d be another 1st rounder in the bank

Just worry about mids, outside players are easy to grab in future years or trade/FA. We need mids because we’ve got Prestia on one leg, Taranto and Hopper carrying us. We’ll need all 3 to provide support but we need to start rotating and getting the kids ready for it.

Walking in next year with a young midfield group of (hopefully) Sharp, Robey, Smillie, Hotton, Lalor, McCauliffe should set us up for years to come when we won’t have low draft picks where we can take best mids in the draft.

And please flipping stay away from Duursma and CDT.

Win/win either way but very open to splitting the pick for another a pick in the teens and a F1. Could be our best path to secure Tanner next year. Assuming we pick 1-4 again, we still come out of both drafts with 2 top end talents each year.

Sydney could be a pick swap candidate they can end up with pick 4 to package up and trade for Curnow, which should interest carlton as it will come in before a harry dean bid. We end up with pick 3 pick 11 and 2xF1.

Assuming you mean F1 from Carlton, the only issue will be what the specific changes to F/S and Academy matching are for next year.

Cal Twomey suggested that to match a bid at pick 1 for the 2026, you might need something like pick 2 and 12 (doubt it'll be this extreme, but sounds like you'll need first round picks to match first round bids), which means Carlton can't afford to trade out their F1 this early in preparation to match a bid for Walker.
