Geelols easy draw finally caught up to them.

Their arrogance and expectation of rolling out another GF win, was what killed them off.

The AFL continues to gift them the easiest draw and they fail more times than win in finals under Chris Scoff.

Lets be honest they were slaughtered 70 to 7 in the space of a quarter, the umps stopped giving them free kicks in the second half. Midfield was smashed.

The cliff has arrived folks.

It remains to be seen whether it's a cliff, or just reality biting that they are a good but not great list. Their soft draw papered over the cracks.

Brisbane had another level all year. They were wildly inconsistent. But they looked the best team when they were on.

And they did play top 8 sides, and were tested often.

A few might have believed the hype at Geelong a little too much. A goalless first quarter in their Prelim revealed weakness in their foundation.

A Cats supporting mate told me that if anyone other than Brisbane won this year, they would be the weakest Premier in some time. It was hard to argue with that assessment a week ago, and it's even harder now.

One of greatest all time sooks especially with that awkward “no I’ll start” jibe to kick off the press conference, then goes on the play the victim card with secretive “adversity” they had to face all year not withstanding the fact they got handed one of the softest draws. You would never see Fages or even Longmire last year conduct themselves like that after a loss.
Chris Scott’s press conference…his weird answers and meandering answers within answers and chopping and changing subject within answers. And the cut short press conference. Was full blown breakdown. Wow. Does he know how to lose? Or they just never thought they would lose this game? The media had pump them up so big that there was nothing to hold onto when they fell.

What adversities, reduced cotton on deals, smaller land packages?

Is this satire or is this flog actually this mentally ill? Send someone around to neuter him, either way.

He’s absolutely mentally ill or drug addled - or both. Dude had a Swastika tattooed on him and then tried to play the ‘no it’s a Hindu symbol!!’ card. He’s cooked.

Bulldogs were a better chance to win the grand final if Bailey Smith liked playing in Ballarat.

Oh what a day.

Playing Cameron injured was a clear sign that the coaching staff had no faith in the forward line doing a job without him.

And if Dangerfield can't play 2 finals in a row, what's the point of going around again? just retire champ.

As others have noted, there is at least 6 genuine plodders on that team, hence, when the chips are down, these blokes don't rise, they just get exposed. Guthrie is a spud of all spuds.

It's such a sook thing to say.

With Neale as sub Chris Scott had the advantage of knowing how Brisbane were going to use their sub. (Bring Neale on during the third quarter and to play midfield or wing). Knowing that is a huge strategic upper hand.

And the sub is designed to make sure your team IS NOT DISADVANTAGED by getting an injury. So sub Cameron off and it's still 22 v 22. That's the whole point of it.

But instead he DOESNT use the sub and so it's 21 v 22 and his team falls off.

Then Starcevich gets injured and then Brisbane is at the disadvantage cos they've already made their sub - so it's now 21 v 21. Scott can get himself into an advantage again by subbing Cameron and being 22 v 21.

But what does he do?

Nothing, and has a sook about it.

I guaratee when the sub rule is scrapped he wil be one of the first to complain about being disadvantaged by injury and call for the introduction of a sub rule.
I didn't realise that Scott actually subbed off Stanley INSTEAD of Cameron.

What a ****ing idiot.

Should be easy to verify this.

The Hinduism/Buddhism/Jainism symbol [ or ] is oriented differently to the Nazi one, with the latter, which I won't depict here, being tilted at a 45-degree angle.

It's a big win for football when a side that brings in 3 taggers who prefer not to look at the ball during stoppages gets beaten heftily.

Seeing Cam Raynor torpedoing lame duck Geelong players repeatedly in the middle was the most beautiful thing I have seen in football in a long time. Giving them their own medicine and making them look like exactly what they are. Flat track bullies. That's why I'm still so disappointed in Mitchell and the team from the prelim. I mean, they've been doing it to Hawthorn for 2 decades and Mitchell was a player for most of that time yet still hasn't learnt. Keep thinking that Fagan was the real brains behind the Clarkson era.

Chris Scott is nothing more than Ross Lyon with a better hairstyle.

Wasnt just fagan. When clarko started, he had a very close team around him who told him what was/wasn't working. In later years he jettisoned anyone who disagreed with him

Can't make this shit up with Scott and his "I'm not making excuses but..."
  • Sub rule cost them despite Brisbane actually copping an injury to Starcevich after they made a sub and not before like Geelong.
  • "10 -12 things going wrong for us".
  • The super defensive body language throughout.
  • Gives small statements saying Brisbane are good sprinkled between the self loathing.
  • Ends the presser abruptly.
To be fair the presser finished early because there was no disabled journos or women for him to yell at . That would have added 5-10 mins.

The way Brisbane played yesterday's final quarter reminded me so much of our threepeat years. Such an overwhelming display of skill, confidence and brute force with players continually taking risks that came off.

No Chris Scott team will ever get close to that because he's too controlling, calculated & safe. The truly great coaches give players the freedom to trust their own instincts and back themselves, which is naturally dependent on having lots of talent to work, but when it does no structure in the world can ever hold up against it.

We aren’t that far off it.
The Cats tag the opponents best and hope Danger, Cameron and Smith put on a masterclass, worked in the prelim mainly due to Dangerfield but he couldn’t back it up.
The overt tagging is an admission from Scott that they aren’t good enough to go toe to toe with the better teams.

I’m not gonna say they’ll drop off, but I don’t think there’s a flag in this Geelong group, Holmes and Smith butcher the pill, players like Guthrie, Bowes, Clarke, Henry, Close and even Stengle are bog average.

I’m sure they’ll somehow manage to snag another easy draw and be thereabouts next year but I think as it stands, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Hawthorn and potentially Adelaide are better next year
