If Bailey had kicked 6.1 instead of 1.6 before the last quarter when the game was already done then I’d be more inclined to agree with you.Do you really believe he was the Norm Smith medallist today?
Seriously?
Zac Bailey should have been given that Norm Smith comfortably. This was Johannisen levels of stupid.
The potential impact is load management for an older player and the loss of games for Frampton. The development of Frampton has been better than I expected. If Frampton leaves for potential senior games after his 2026 contract the replacement cost will not be cheap. We Frampton came to Collingwood other clubs were interested and there is a shortage of good backs. Across time Roughead, Howe and Dunne have been good pickups.I suspect the club won't end up with May due to cultural reasons, but you can see below why the club is doing its due diligence around him.
Frampton had an ok season, however even in a down year for May, he is a much more effective player across nearly all of the key defensive categories highlighted below.
It looks marginal, but the club would be viewing this as a way to upgrade a position in our starting 23 for no draft cost, while also offering the depth at KPD and positional flexibility with Moore/Howe if they wanted to consider playing either as a forward if required.

McCreery biggest issue is not stamina/fitness. He is an athlete.Put McCreery on a tank program, running 10kms 3 times a week in the offseason and make him full time midfielder, his burst and speed breaks defenses a lot , just need stamina.
But the re-rating of Bailey isn't due to being a close checked forward. - it's because he's now having an impact rolling into the midfield where he gets to roll free. That’s it? I expected a stronger retort from you. Bailey’s predominantly been a forward his whole career and has had as much close checking as Butters.
Pretty sure it was Rowell we where chasing very hard forHe’s rarely wrong, Cal. Do we still live in hope?

Trade talk: Rumours Magpies will land a big fish this off-season

Parker, Steele and HH have all played multiple games and shown AFL traits. It is a plan and is standard player development. Allan is a bit different. He has played more games than the others which is a good sign. But problems in player intensity, application and competitiveness tend to be extremely difficult to solve. These traits may be terminal for a player’s career. Only one way to find out, that’s having a plan to play them.Hope you’re right but other than blind hope there has been close to zero evidence of this!
hope isn’t a plan !
That’s bearable. Can always structure a boost to a contract in yr 3.We don't finish paying Grundy until end of 27.
I've heard Grundy is very specific is what we pay him. Needs to be right to the dollar. Nothing less. That’s bearable. Can always structure a boost to a contract in yr 3.
I’m hoping we had a few extra $$ sometime over the past few years where we were able to pay down a little extra off the Grundy Loan.
As it should be.I've heard Grundy is very specific is what we pay him. Needs to be right to the dollar. Nothing less.
On current form we must prioritise an extension. We don't finish paying Grundy until end of 27.

So we couldn’t have made extra payments in certain years?I've heard Grundy is very specific is what we pay him. Needs to be right to the dollar. Nothing less.
Not that I have heard. Its all set out. Month by Month to the letter. So we couldn’t have made extra payments in certain years?
Cheap cheap is our motto this year.I have been thinking about how we can improve our midfield if we want to still be right up there next year and the only player I can think of that is probably available and good enough to make a proper difference is Petracca, i know he is also getting old, I'm talking about having another crack at it next year though.
I think he could be cheap in terms of trade if we took his full contact, my post wasn't saying I think we will get him, just that he is probably available and could be the difference for usCheap cheap is our motto this year.
Would he be cheap? There is a reason we are not linked to him this year.
He'll be off to one of crows or GC. Just a matter of which
In terms of our midfield, we'll more likely change from within
Josh, Perryman through there. Beau more time in there.
As always, there's a lot of catastrophising over a loss. We were bloody close this year, but things went array in the midfield on PF day. A fit Pendles and fully fit Jordy and things might have been different. We'll lose Pendles soon, but add in the continued growth of Nick and Long.I have been thinking about how we can improve our midfield if we want to still be right up there next year and the only player I can think of that is probably available and good enough to make a proper difference is Petracca, i know he is also getting old, I'm talking about having another crack at it next year though.

Seems pretty unlikely we'd look at him. Could look at someone in the rookie draft if you wanted a mature midI think he could be cheap in terms of trade if we took his full contact, my post wasn't saying I think we will get him, just that he is probably available and could be the difference for us
They where not Dickheads On Field like May hasSteven Maywould arguably be our best defender if he joins us. Let’s be objective for a second, is what he has done off the field any worse than what Swan, Heater, Didak, Krack (to name a few) have done?PLAYERCARDSTART1Steven May

It also takes away the subjectiveness of the insufficient intent bullshit. Not really. Just makes the deliberate out of bounds rule clearer.
I didn't think I was catastrophising, I was just suggesting a gun player to try and add to our midfield, we should have been 1 goal behind with 10 minutes to go in a prelim against what turned out to be the dominant premier, it's hardly panic stations but we still need to improve if we want to win itAs always, there's a lot of catastrophising over a loss. No one has the midfield depth of the Lions, but they're still beatable - their talls aren't great outside of Andrews.
Don't really think anyone in the rookie draft will make the difference to our midfield, maybe that young guy who works at the club, he could possibly be good straight awaySeems pretty unlikely we'd look at him. Could look at someone in the rookie draft if you wanted a mature mid
