Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

So you think it's ok for a player to sign a long term contract on mega dollars and then decides with 4 years to go, he wants to go surfing and we need to accomodate it?
F-that. He has a contract, if a deal doesnt suit us, he can turn up day one of PS and pull his effin finger out. if he refuses to turn up to training day 1, he will be in breach of contract and he can sit out the next 4 years deregistered as far as I'm concerned.

Some of these recent rumours appear to be people just putting together everything that has already been reported and what we already know. I’m taking them with a grain of salt. What we do know:

Charlie wants to leave
Charlie is contracted so we will get a good deal, otherwise he stays
We need picks for Dean & ISON (2025) and Walker (2026)
If Charlie leaves he solves all our drafting issues as we would demand a good player and high draft pick/s
GW wants to balance out our salary cap as we have too many on too much
We cut the list too hard last year so need to build up again, starting with those already nominating us

What we do know is GW and Austin will be working furiously behind the scenes to work some magic.

This has been our weakest area for years. We get good draftees, and spend all our $$ on retaining our top end talent, only to have nothing coming through and no money to target our needs. Glad to see it's a focus this year.

Like Soapy V said earlier, an abundance of picks doesn't mean we're holding on to them, could very well mean they unlock other deals for us.

Going to be one of those deals where you must look at it in its totality before judging I reckon.

Temper expectations really. I stated a few days back, some wouldn’t be happy with what comes back for trading Charlie and I’ll repeat, the club will get the best deal they possibly can.
