Two teams with a lot to lose.

Brisbane would go 0-3 in recent Grand Finals if they lost.

And Melbourne will lose back-to-back Grand Finals if they lose.

Willison is a big in having escaped suspension. Dropped the ball and gave away a penalty early yesterday but recovered well to make some dents with his carries. Takes some of the pressure off Haas and Carrigan and will be useful running at the right edge defenders like Hughes and Meaney.

Broncos will gain enormous belief in themselves I reckon…. those wins v Canberra and Penrith were both from barely a pulse.
Conversely they’d be physically battered and with less recovery time , it may also figure the longer the game goes on.
Storm just

I actually am thinking this reminds of the 2019 AFL Gf.
Broncos, like the Giants, have had hard fought wars going into the GF, Storm have pretty much had it “easy”.
Reckon there may not be anything left in the tank.

‘Stuck up’: Storm prop lights fuse in slanging match with Payne Haas

The unlikeliest of grand final sledges has been tossed out from one of the game’s gentle giants to another.

We're just shaking in our boots at the prospect of Big, Bad Stefano.
It will be like a car crash...

I reckon the Brisbane Broncos will win and win well. They beat the Melbourne Storm pretty comfortably a few weeks back and there’s just a feeling of destiny about them and the way they’ve won their 2 semis. With Carrigan back and I’m assuming Mam to 6 and and Hunt to dummy half I can see them starting strongly and building a decent lead.

A 2023-esqe bedshit isn’t out of the question though and would be undeniably hilarious too.

The Brisbane Broncos showed against Penrith Panthers that they would rather give penalties away for blocking than allowing successful aerial raids to be carried out. That being so, the Storm will have to get us on the edges or go through us. If you take the aerial assault away from Melbourne; they might struggle to score.

Conversely, just constantly send high kicks Coates side and wait to receive the 3 or 4 penalties that will come your way.

It will be a good game. These games are won in the forwards. The best forward pack is the Broncos.

How about we have a game where Atkins doesn’t favour one team like most referees have done this year.
There shouldn't be an obvious bias there I wouldn't think.

It always makes me laugh, it's pretty well known he came through the Penrith ref system. What most don't know is he was actually a Parra supporter. All the claims over the years that he was favouring the Panthers always used to make me laugh.

Has he ever refereed them?

The Broncos have the belief they can win from anywhere and easily accounted for the Storm in the last round of the regular season, while the Storm have had the ideal build up, 2 days extra to prepare and have a formidable recent record over the Broncos.

Madge can cap off a remarkable 24 months or so if the Broncos win, while Bellamy can finally win something more significant than the minor premiership without Cameron Smith in his team.

The beauty of not having an NRL team is I can barrack for a nail biter rather than being pretty happy with the AFL GF eventually blowing out. It should be a good one.
