It's 1 year and we have plenty of space
What distraction? He's gone. We don't want the distraction.
Whilst freeing his salary up would be handy, I don't think it's all that valuable.I completely disagree. Getting Jamarra's salary off our books is what's valuable to us. If we can't find a club for him, he's getting delisted and we have to pay him out which isn't great at all rival or no rival.
You don't think every single interview with any coach or player for the whole season starting off with "so where's Jamarra at?" is a distraction? What distraction?
He gets paid to be told to **** off for another year just announce it and its done

AFL will be fine putting him on the LTI list to get it out of the media so it won't pick up a SSP or Midseason drafteeAre you really saying there will be no media coverage of him? Really? What's the point anyway? He's just taking up another list spot that at the very least can go to someone that at least wants it
I reckon the Wilkie situation is pretty simple. St Kilda amend his contract to a point where he’s comfortable and feels valued, or they don’t and he takes up our offer. So he’s still waiting to see if the former comes to fruition. It’s also important for St Kilda to keep in mind that if we trade him in, we’re not trading in a player we’ll get 10 years out of. Yes he’s a gun, but the decline can come quickly, so their trade ask should reflect that too.
West is the only minor concern for us, which is a nice change.Free agency list for next year

A sensational finals series has shot Zac Bailey into the upper echelon of wanted playerswww.afl.com.au
I've been thinking about this too as a 3way trade seems only likely way. Reckon Saints will want extras too. This seems the most likely way it would get done and best part for us is it is quite realistic given Flanders wanting to take the $$$ at the Saints and GC needing points.
Would our pick 10 work for GC? Or would it be too high and needing us to split it with a 4th club.
Has a player ever knocked back an extra 500k a year to stay at a worse team?

It’s a problem. I’ve always been of the view that, if you can’t lure a clear best 22 player who fills a need, hunt in the lower leagues rather than take a fringe player/DFA who another club has already worked out isn’t up to it.My issues with the dogs is that our 18/22 are locked in players
Targetting the correct role player looks like it's been a nightmare this off period
Very likely not.Westy is no concern at all
Noah Answerth made some serious strides as a small defender before his achilles injury and was easily best 22. He would have to be a fair chance at being squeezed out of the Lions.Only ones i'd want are Butts/Bailey/Chandler/Butters/Vlastuin

Gold Coast hold pick 6. St Kilda already own 7.WB:
Out: Pick 10, Pick 28, JUH
In: Wilkie, Budarek
St Kilda:
In: Pick 7, Flanders
Out: Wilkie, F2, F3
GC:
In: Pick 10, Pick 28, JUH, F2, F3
Out: Pick 7, Flanders, Budarek
Don’t think there was half a million dollars a year being left on the table. Closest is probably Chris Grant.Plenty. Even the Dogs. Were shit in the early 2000s after the list was shot from those prelims and Dons tried to move West with a big pay.
