Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Tbh I think Voss will be moved on in a sceanrio where he cant get improvement from the remaining players, especially if someone else is the preferred coaching candidate

Voss may not get all the pieces he wants to help him get us up the ladder in 2026 but I think others in the club have a longer term view and want to reset our age profile

Will be a good test of his coaching abaility
All the while Horse will be sitting back watching intently.

I just find it hard to believe Charlie is allowed to leave without some seriously good player(s) coming back our way, Vossys coaching for his job next year and I can’t see how he would be ok with us trading a superstar for future picks which aren’t going to help him keep his job
If we got Max Holmes we would be as 'Winning' as Charlie Sheen.

Not to stoke more fire, but Walsh and cc are quite close apparently

We will find out everything we need to know about Sam Walsh in due time...

I like the stance he took when he came back. His comments sparked a whole new slogan for the marketing team to capitalise on...

Now, if he goes ahead and leaves after making that statement... then we will know he's just another part of the problem. All talk...

If he elects to stay, then we will know that he's a true leader for this club...

Having said that, if we have a really poor season next year, (finish 3rd last for example) and there's no change to FA compo... and he wants to walk out... then with band 1, we'll get pick #4...

I love having other teams future picks. Im a negative nancy in general so deathriding losses can result in 2 wins in one weekend. Fun times.

Not gonna lie, whilst the primary reason I want us to stockpile F1s next year is for the future of the list... death riding teams adds some fun to the season too... especially when I doubt we'll win many games...

Any chance he's more than happy to get rid of the half-hearted superstar that thinks he sucks and can't coach?

Someone on the Swans board reckons Cats are getting into Walsh's ear...

I suspect it's more for next year as a FA as they have fa trade capital to get it done this year.

Was told the same thing at one of the GF functions on Saturday.

Apparently getting Charlie down the highway is step one.

Step 2 is getting Walsh as a free agent at the end of next season. They're preparing to put a world of work into getting Sam.

We’ll have a mountain of cap space next year. We can match it and force a trade

was thinking the same, especially if F/A compo is crap because of where we finish

Also not convinced Geelong will be up and about next year- may not be that attarctive

And also, Geelong need to do some magic to get Charlie this year

Charlie is more likely to play for Werribee centrals next year than for Geelong. Legitimately a 0.5% chance

Unless we are getting the value equivalent of 3 first rounders, no deal. Thats the going rate in my view, there has been history of guys wanting to be traded and staying and thriving. (Papley, O'Keefe at Swans 2 good examples, Buckenara way back).

I would not be blinking at letting him go for less, the last time we went down the "lets get rid of everyone cos bad for culture" route was 2013-14 and we ended up way worse. People thought we could replace Betts, Garlett, Robinson, Laidler and Waite with just randoms, and amazingly we could not.

If you think we are bad now, just wait and see us letting go Charlie for some magic beans, and a Walsh going on top of TDK and JSOS going, leads us to WC/Richmond territory and green shoots years Bolton redux by 2027 wining 1-3 games a year.

Think of how Sydney handled Papley, versus that other poster saying about Charlie "he can sit out the next 4 years deregistered as far as I'm concerned."

Then you'll understand my point.

What the hell, is C4 leaving to join the filth!

Let me guess, he’s wants to get out of BF Carlton bubble…. :D
Collingwood? Nah mate .. I’m off to the mighty Sainters!!

SOS really convinced me they are an up and coming powerhouse with great cultu… ah who am I kidding ..

FFS!!! Do two of these clubs have any salary cap limit?!

Trade wrap: “No doubt” Cats will lead the chase for star Blue in 2026

18:25 - Geelong to chase Carlton’s Sam Walsh in 2026 free agency window

Geelong is set to lead the chase for Carlton’s Sam Walsh when he enters free agency next season.
The star midfielder was originally drafted out of the Geelong Falcons, and Trade Radio’s Cal Twomey is sure they’ll table him a ‘high-end’ contract to see if he wants to return home.

Dangerfield will go so he is the salary dump. Geelong are one of these sides, when a gun veteran goes, they just go out and get another gun to replace them. Collingwood are the same. The better clubs just do it. The system is, when you are up, you stay up.

But yeah, there are teams going around like they are us and Essendon in the 90's. You have to wonder just a little.

if Geelong are interested in Walsh (cos good buddies) - all the more reason to keep curnow- that way they dont get either and Carlton can decide where either or any goes ...nek year.

it is really good having the whip hand, if I can see it - Im sure Wright and Davies are sitting back with big grins about all this inter club posturing...

and not one shot fired from the CLub regarding possible targets in mind - yet maybe the new regime just gets a deal done before announcement and just goes bang - wouldn't that be nice?
