Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

i had a browse of the Sydney Board trade thread the other night re the Curnow trade. As soon as i read that Florent and Hayward are housemates and business partners, it seemed pretty clear to me they could be part of the Curnow trade together.

Carlton have long been interested in Hayward and now seem interested in Florent. The 2 first rd picks, Hayward and Florent would seem a logical trade for a wantaway but contracted Curnow.

I am a fan of Hayward. Im not a fan of Florent. But the Club seem a fan of both.

Dont think we can do better than that for Charlie, and we do badly need the 2 firsts. So it depends if we really really want to keep Charlie when he clearly doesnt want to be coached by Voss anymore.

Id say the above would now be close to a done deal. Imo
Add to all that they've got the same manager as Curnow

Seems the most logical outcome, probably have to give back a token pick as a sweetener….

That’s all well and good but who plays alongside H v Tigers Round 1 ?

And heaven forbid H spends time on the sidelines….

Where has the clearly come from re: Charlie not wanting to be coached by Voss anymore?

Think Charlie for Hayward + extras happens?

Personally, I think it will be two first rounders (one this year and one next year) and a solid player that will make it happen. Maybe some swaps of other picks? It needs to be this for us to show interest

The change in points for Cody next year might have made it more palatable and I believe many internally are warming to the idea of him going especially as we are trying to change the standards

I know a few others on here have stated Charlie isn't pushing this, but I'm told he has made it very clear he wants out and has for a while.

Having no sense of humour much?

Dig in! 🥂

Presuming you know better than everyone and dominating most threads all year with your 'take' much?
Blaming our players for pretty much everything very much??

Mate! I'd prefer you don't comment when I ocassionally post in this thread. You bang on for 99 % of the time unimpeded don't you?

Have a good day!
🍏🐎

No apologies for being a Carlton supporter and not a whining misery guts.:thumbsu:

Would we be happy with Pick 11, F1, Florent + Hayward?

Would allow us to package up 10 and 11 to move up the board, and then have sufficient points for Cody next year.
Take it but replace Florent with another.

Florent should be a 4th rounder and some salary paid by Sydney IMO. A dump!

I would be ok with that. Gives us solid players in 2 areas we are weak in, picks for Cody, plus the ability to pick up another good kid this year or next year.

I don't dislike Hayward but he has only managed 30+ goals in a season twice and both times it was playing 25+ games in a team which made the Grand Final. I wouldn't be expecting too much from him if he comes.
In a gun midfield…

What these reasons that CC wants out if he’s making it clear as his direction?

We’re yet to hear anything on this desperation.

To me thats clearly where its headed. That deal, and the trade up to hopefully WC pick 2 but probably more likely Tigers Pick 4. Pick 4, Dean, Jagga, Cody, Ison, O'farell, Cowan, Olli, Moir is our next push.

I would be happy with Pick 11, F1 and Florent (prefer Campbell) and some later picks for Ison etc

BUT, this would depend on what we can get for Pick 11. Package with TDK pick for Pick 2 or very good player. If we can't turn Pick 11 into something like this I don't think we will do it

Just my take

We want to use the Silvagni pick on Dean

Who would we use as a tall forward if McKay goes down.

Do we think Hayward and Khamis would work?

Thats my thinking. Would allow us to get out of the Harry Dean "hit zone".

Walk away with Pick 3/4, Dean + Ison from the draft.

3/4, Dean, Ison, Hayward, Florent, F1 would be a decent hit of youth/experience for Charlie, TDK and JSOS.

I think the value of florent is already negligible in that deal.

2 1sts plus Hayward is reasonable. Adding Florent as a salary dump is a freebie. If you swapped florent with somebody who has more value like McInerny, its probably to skewed in our favour.
