Recommitted Buku Khamis [FA 2026] - requested a trade to Carlton, didn't get there

That suggests you’ll probably be looking at splitting 21 for more points, so makes what I proposed unlikely.
I honestly have no idea what will happen. There's so many moving pieces for us this trade period.

I think if both parties want to get this deal done early so we can move on with other things, it'll be Khamis for pick 40. That makes the most sense to me. Unsure if that's in your ballpark though.

I think that’s fair and we’d probably jump at it. But that’s why I thought that 32 for 21 deal might be feasible, as it’s actually more favourable to Carlton from a points perspective than giving up 40 straight up.

Hoping there might be a creative win/win that enables the Bulldogs to get as high a pick from Carlton as possible while assisting Carlton’s points gathering for bids.

We also have 49 so that could be more realistic.

I've said Brisbanes 2nd from the start

Was told he isn't worth a 2nd despite how far its slid
I think pick 40 is difficult to value as things currently stand. Given the amount of bids that will absorb picks, it could shoot up as high as 32. IMO, Khamis is not worth pick 32. It'll be interesting to see what happens here.

at this point its a f3 - bulldogs are welcomed to say no but no 4 yr deal for buku next yr
The only one who looks bad in that situation is you guys then,

If you get someone to request a trade and don't get the deal done players are less likely to want to come ala Essendon after Dunkley

or his manager approached club and buku wants to come to the blues 3rd round is correct

Buku isn’t being pushed out, in an ideal world the Dogs keep him as he’s great depth, especially losing Jones.

He’s well liked at the club so we probably would take unders with a pick in the 30s, but if a trade can’t be reached I’m sure we’ll be thrilled to keep him for next year.

no problem hold him to his contract and hope for his sake he will have suitors this time next yr

club is prepared to give buku an opportunity - whether he gets it will depend on wbd
Dogs seem to have this bizarre fetish for trying to win every trade no matter the circumstances. Buku is wasting away in the VFL and just wants a chance to play regular games.

If they demand overs it will be purely on the Dogs looking like flogs holding him in bad faith.

31 games in 2 years, including one where he kept Curnow in his pocket = “wasting away in the VFL”

Rather back Buku in getting back into the 22 than trading him. His lack of defensive pressure and gut running is what is keeping him out from the 22.

Kept Curnow in his pocket?

Isn't that the game Curnow had like 11 shots on goal and kicked 7 points or something ridiculous?
Yeah I think that was the game where Curnow was taking pings from outside 50 most of the time.

He certainly wasn't in Buku's pocket but 11 shots on goal isn't a true reflection of how Charlie actually played - he was selfish and pretty bloody ordinary.
