Is Geelong the Boston Celtics of the AFL?**** Geelong
Probably throw Khamis in there as well. With Jammara looking likely to end up at the Suns does this open the door for Walter to Carlton as part of the Curnow deal?
Sydney: Gain Curnow / Lose: #10, F1 & Will Hayward.
Gold Coast: Lose Walter, Ainsworth / Gain: Jammara Ugle-Hagan, #10 (Syd) & F2 (Carl).
Carlton: Lose Curnow, #9 & F2 / Gain Walter, Hayward, Ainsworth & Syd Future 1st.
Bulldogs: Lose: Jammara Ugle-Hagan / Gain: #9
Who's not happy?
Dogs are resigned to trading Jammara and I think would be content with a Top 10 pick.
Sydney desperate for Curnow - they know they have to pay slightly overs.
Gold Coast don't want to trade Walter BUT they're bringing in Jammara to partner King...what does that tell you!
No chance Bulldogs get a top 10 pick for Jamara, would be lucky to get a 4th round pick if the club taking him is willing to take the entire contract. With Jammara looking likely to end up at the Suns does this open the door for Walter to Carlton as part of the Curnow deal?
Sydney: Gain Charlie Curnow / Lose: #10, F1 & Will Hayward.
Gold Coast: Lose Jed Walter, Ben Ainsworth / Gain: Jamarra Ugle-Hagan, #10 (Syd) & F2 (Carl).
Carlton: Lose Curnow, #9 & F2 / Gain Walter, Hayward, Ainsworth & Syd Future 1st.
Bulldogs: Lose: Jamarra Ugle-Hagan / Gain: #9

Your correct .. No word of a lie I went to the hawks game , the first game we played and his manager said curnow to Geelong in the corp box .. I was shocked and thought he meant Walsh for some reason .. explains his crap attitude all year … this year has made me realise these things just don’t happen , they are planned along time outIt's always been about Geelong.
It's all a game.

Blink twice if you are in dangerThank you Aphrodite for your perspective and understanding about the longevity of my posting history and TBH it was an honest mistake that I choose blueheart as login name and offer my apology to him for this coincidental mistake as no slight or malice was intended by my actions.

If that is what Charlie wants, then he stays and learns to live with it.It's always been about Geelong.
It's all a game.
Is there some background context we should know about here? It's a footy forum lol...and we're in the Carlton section...of course there's going to be a tonne of similar names!Oh look the poster who originally stole my name is still posting as my name. Surprised mods didn’t take action at the time. I am the original blueheart fwiw![]()
Carlton wouldn't give a flying **** what Charlie wants, unless he wants to come back to the fold on our terms. If that is what Charlie wants, then he stays and learns to live with it.
Geelong don't have a top 10 pick this or next year and we would want 2 to start conversations for Charlie.
We sell for anything less to Geelong, and we are seriously flowered as an AFL club.
You can imagine my outrage as my first and most preferred name was FerrisBu!!!!!Is there some background context we should know about here? It's a footy forum lol...and we're in the Carlton section...of course there's going to be a tonne of similar names!
Sydney losing out - think they would want our SOS compo too and we get WC 37 or maybe WC F2Carlton give: Curnow, TDK compo
Carlton get: Pick 2, Hayward, Sydney F1
Sydney give: Logan McDonald, Will Hayward, pick 10 & F1
Sydney get: Charlie Curnow, Pick 37 WC
West Coast give: Pick 2, Pick 37

I agree. I don't understand how our list management team survived. Perhaps there is nobody better available. We have a couple of young players to be excited about, and a couple more to come in the next two years. But the general population of youth at Carlton are honest tryer types.Charlie deal pretty easy, Swans first round this and next and a B grade player. Charlie's knees and attitude are worth moving on. Our list is very weak right now and we need to load up on kids before Tassie or otherwise we will end up down the bottom for a decade.
Right now I would argue we have the worst young talent in the AFL of sides who didn't make the 8.
This defeatist narrative is starting to irk.. Our list is not that weak.. We underperformed in all aspects in 2025, however losing Charlie who averaged 1.7 goals a game & 11 disposals & Jack Silvagni who played 13 games is not going to break us.. TDK is a loss, no doubt however gives us an opportunity to flex in other areas we have underperformed in. We were horrific and lost many games we should never have lost ie Richmond/North/Dogs but a tweak to our gameplan and a return to form of our key players should see us at a minimum challenging for a spot in the 8.Charlie deal pretty easy, Swans first round this and next and a B grade player. The reality is it's tough to get top tier talent with the picks we've had. The list management team has done well to pick lots of guys with later selections who have played a fair bit of AFL. Aren't many guys who have been complete busts.I agree. I don't understand how our list management team survived. Perhaps there is nobody better available. Got Reidy for virtually nothing. Good start. The reality is it's tough to get top tier talent with the picks we've had. The list management team has done well to pick lots of guys with later selections who have played a fair bit of AFL. Aren't many guys who have been complete busts.
I think Austin has had one top 10 pick since he's been there (Jagga). He's did trade the Saad pick but that was the covid draft and nobody in that range has turned out much good. And pick 6 in Cerra deal, but Cerra was still young, and we needed a readymade mid after SOS failed so abysmally in selecting midfielders.
The only thing I'd say with Austin is he is pretty nice to trade with, which I don't always mind, but this year he really needs to maximise every deal given where our list is at. Good test for him.
Na - cost us a quarter of a 3rd round pickGot Reidy for virtually nothing. Good start.
Why not? Doesn't effect us at all and Freo wanted a tiny upgrade on some crap picksWhy bother with the pick swaps
