Using your first round picks to land Curnow and bringing in a cheap ruck like Soldo makes infinitely more sense than spending any first round assets on Rowan Marshall

It is exactly the move to prevent which is why the AFL set up the restrictions in the first place.

If Curnow is a genuine chance I'd be tempted to forget about Marshall and just go Blicavs, SDK and Neale as rucks next year. Stanley obviously still there as backup and Conway and Edwards developing.

We showed how good our mobile ruck group can be in finals and Stanley in the GF messed with the cohesion.

Aleer could be a good option for extra defensive cover.

And having re-signed Stanley adds weight to the idea that Marshall may not happen. Doesn't help that Ross Lyon has publicly declared Marshall isn't going anywhere..
