If we can't land a full back, I do wonder if we revert back to the 2 KPD setup but with more reliance on medium defenders that can match it in the air.

Maybe Bramble & Williams cover the wing/HBF between them depending on whether we need an additional medium defender against certain teams?

Think it’s definitely an option. Lots of good defences have only two key talls; Collingwood comes to mind.

I dont rate him highly but I'd be okay with getting Leek Aleer for the right price (500k/yr for 3 years, 3rd round pick territory). We are 12 months off only having a 34yo Rory Lobb

I get what you’re saying but gee wizz.. the way the ball was coming in at times… we cant just neglect that part of the club next year and moving fwd.

Something a lot of people don't understand is how poor the defending was off the ball. It looks like on the TV that a forward had an easy lead up mark, but the defender often allowed them that space.

thats true, but the forwards often had literally half of the ground to lead into and only 4 people in that half

With a high press our deepest defenders need to set up a zone defence which really relies on experienced vocal leaders back there to get everyone positioned correctly.
We rolled out very inexperienced defenses last year which would not have helped.
I don't know if we necessarily need another key defender but we do need someone to sit back on the deepest line of defence and organise things back there.

What do you think we should be getting back for Jamarra? Keep in mind no other club apart from the Gold Coast has had any interest and he has quickly become one of the biggest distractions in the football world.

If we could get a pick around the high 40s low 50s and dump all his salary I think that’s about the best we can hope for.

A. Jones, Dolan, Vandermeer and McNeil will all be fighting for the one spot once Weightman is back.

I don’t think it’s a huge area of need, certainly not one that Ainsworth would fill.

Contracted until 2028 and the Bombers will pay overs to get him. He's a good player but so many times he'll go through an entire game having zero impact.

The teams who play two key talls usually have an AA level FB that can play on the oppositions best forward
