Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Question.

If the offer is

Ainsworth and Pick 18 for Pick 10

Do you take it?

Leaves getting picks for Cody up in the air, but would sort Dean matching tidily

Can I just say that I actually like the disagree response.

This was just a thought bubble, but the reaction gives me the idea without 3 quote responses

Gee I was impressed with how Chris Davies articulated the Geelong offer & why it would not be enough....seems a very good operator.

Most questions you are asked by journos, the interviewee doesn't really want to answer. Or at least not honestly. But you also can't lie either.

So the temptation is to give such a generic, vague answer that you don't get caught out and you give nothing away. But then the answer (and the interview) becomes useless.

I thought Davies did an excellent job of communicating where we stand on issues, without actually offering up any details or hard facts to the public. It's a real skill.

I really like Rowbottom.

Long term replacements for Hewett and Cripps who are 30 and 31 respectively at the start of next year. Great tackler and can find the footy when played in the right role.

2 firsts and Rowbottom is a good start.

This isn't the bidding war people think it will be , cats are playing this very smart.

Charlie wants geelong and only geelong.

We can agree to a better swans deal but charlie won't agree to go there, I would be shocked if he does.

Cats have made their best offer, every one from here gets a bit worse.

Forces us to accept or reject.

If we reject cats come calling again next year., and probably pick up marshall this year.

Can you show me where Charlie has said publicly he only wants Geelong!

With that additional cap space and all the picks they're gonna hold, Cowan will be almost at the peaks of his powers by the time they're introduced to the comp.

I think we need to start resigning to the fact now that he's probably gonna be suiting up for Tassie come 2028.
If his improvement continues on the same trajectory and he is able to run through the midfield for short bursts. Then I think his worth will be

quite high. Possible that they may even offer him the captaincy as well, would be very hard for him to say no to that.

I don't mind the idea of adding Rowbottom. Could free up Walsh to a wing and get his running game going again.

30 votes on a wing in his third season of footy. I don't know why we want to persist with Walsh as an onballer so badly.

We have Lord and Ben Campo to develop into those roles. Not a need at all I'd have thought.

He's a good player, but we don't need another inside mid.
Still got years of Cripps and George, and we've got Lord and Ben Campo coming through.

I think most would be happy with 2 firsts Hayward and one other player whether its Rowbottom, McInerney, McDonald etc

Twomey's face turns dark every time Carlton is mentioned. Guy hates us

I am sort of OK with that.

If I was an AFL reporter, I would visibly twitch and look nauseous every time * was mentioned...
