Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

13 possessions average. 1 goal a game. That's poor. How do these stats warrant a second round pick for a 28 year old.?

You've obviously never watched him play, not saying he will set the world on fire, but the fact that you're just throwing stats out there suggests you're once again just finding something to be negative about.

Go check Matt Crouchs stats, he'd be worth two first rounders in your world.

What more do you want from a small forward??

So let’s say Buku doesn’t done and the Swans deal becomes 11, F1, McInerney & Hayward.

Overall the FA / Trade period turns out to be

Out: TDK, Curnow, Silvagni, Durdin, F2, 41

In: Ainsworth, Chesser, Hayward, McInerney, 10, 11, 22, 67, Swans F1

Are we still looking to trade out the compo picks to get into the 26 draft? It’s a shame that JSOS pick will be on night 1 of the draft, there always seems to be a high price on that first pick of the second round once clubs sit back at look at who’s slid on night 1. Could’ve had some real value for a future first on draft night.

All in all probably not a bad return all things considered. Never matching TDK or JSOS cash, Charlie probably burns us turning the Swans into a genuine contender once again, but his body may also fail him like it has many times before or his attitude may not pick back up given his lackadaisical nature.

Hopefully this mini reset the addition of Dean and then Cody is enough to get us back on track, the young talent is there.

Honestly if Rowbottom is included with Sydney 1st this year and next for Curnow
That's nearly as good as we'll get tbh
Rowbottom is way better than Florent
Tackling machine too
Trading in a Rowbottom doesn’t balance our midfield. It’s another Hewett trade when you have a Cripps, Kennedy and Setterfield. We need to be smarter.

Wasn't Durdin a 2nd rounder?

What are the chances we pick a player like Ainsworth with that F2 or another player like Corey Durdin again.

Ainsworth is not rocking my world but he is a better bet to contribute to the team than the pick.
Ainsworth has a few things that we need. He's pretty durable, he's a pretty good field kick (not a great set shot on goal though) and he's significantly better than anyone else that we have for his role whose name isn't Elijah Hollands.

Love the Austin/Wright strategy. We've had too much reliance on our top 6 stars, lose one of them (who turned out to be a sook) a couple of mid rangers and replace them with people who make us better in areas of need and a few potential A grade kids. And relieve our salary cap pressure. Funnily enough similar to what Wright did at the pies.

13.4 possessions a game is actually above average for a Small forward ( more than Stengle of Cameron). While I think we overpaid and could have got a better deal with our F1 at least Ainsworth brings genuine speed to the side. Ran a 2.9 20m spring in his draft year.

According to Blakey's IG ... James Rowbottom is definitely leaving the Swans.

I don’t think Aleer is all he’s cracked up to be. There’s a reason Giants fans don’t care to lose him.
I read the other day he had the one of the highest 1v1 loss rate of any player in the league. 25 this year and lost 50% of them.
Built like Tarzan, runs around like a headless chook.
I suggest you go and watch a game where Khamis was playing defence then get back to me. Even Dogs supporters saying he's a forward, not a defender.

If we're getting Khamis in as the 3rd marking forward, then that would make more sense imo, but only if we're getting him for a large packet of Samboys.

Either way, it's not really a discussion point, with Davies saying we're not in the picture for Aleer.

Rowbottom is a no from me.

We have a few of him already.

Do we though? Got the inside kids, but an inside mid who can tag other inside mids ... not so much. Could be the Ed Curnow replacement. Tag and accumulate.

Averages 2 tackles a game. Not sure how he fits under Voss contest and pressure mantra
