Lions have brought in Allen and Draper, and of the GF side had Payne and Hipwood on the injury list.

Hipwood has played back on occasions. I’m surprised clubs who have a forward shortage (Dees, Swans) or a key back issue (us) haven’t inquired even considering the ACL recovery period.

One of Taylor, Sharp, or Grjl. Should be chasing pick 6 hard imo.

Is sharp to similar to Sanders? I like the other two for us but are they that much of an upgrade on the guys who will be available at our first?

Is he not allowed to point out that to improve the team we need to bring in players that actually do that I.e Wilkie is clearly better then what we have without hitting reply to 15 different people saying we are standing still doing nothing?

Saying that we made an attempt at Wilkie is relevant to the past month or so.

Gives me Macrae vibes to compare to a dogs player but with better leadership qualities.

if Elijah Hollands didnt have so many issues he would of been a great get reckon he is the type of player we need at HF

And if JUH didn’t have so many issues he’d be a core part of our 23.

I feel like he plays a role that JoD is very good at. I don't trust Aleer as a deep defender which is what we need to target.

Outside of his jump and agility what are these attributes?

One of the worst 1 on 1 players I have seen and even worse at reading the flight of ball

Next year ain’t gonna look much different then I guess, as we have three interceptors. Coaches would wanna give us a sensational team defence structure.

Lost 50% of his 1 on 1s less intercept marks then Lobb and JOD and when he played in the team he did should've been much much higher playing on Vandermeer/McNeil types

Gold coast would be hoping Lombard and Rogers can come on fast for 2026. Small forward/half forward was already a weakness but now lose Ainsworth and Rosas Jnr aswell as Budarick who played there this year.

Obviously Petracca is a massive inclusion but they have lost 3 best 22 players in Flanders, Ainsworth & Budarick.

In saying that not many tall agile contested marking goal kicking mids going around

Wilkie aside which was out of the blue and bold, our general list management and recruiting is conservative at best.

Nothing out there, not really going on the attack or being aggressive just seems like we sit back and hope for natural improvement year on year and then we'll get to Round 23 and have to win to make finals again rather than trying to shoot up into the Top 4.

Lions, Cats, Suns, Hawks, Giants, they'll all be much better next year.

Doesn't fill me with confidence we'll be aggressive when it comes to Butters next year and by God we'll need to be.

He had no idea what to do and has been on an AFL list for 6 years if he isn't getting it now he never will

What do you think we should be getting back for Jamarra? Keep in mind no other club apart from the Gold Coast has had any interest and he has quickly become one of the biggest distractions in the football world.

We should get a late first rounder. In reality we will get a future 3rd and be told that we did well

Hardly an inspiring list of defenders. You may as well include the games that Schache played back there.
Keath was a good pick up for 2-3 years. Simply listing players that we’ve recruited doesn’t demonstrate an effective strategy. The best player from your list is now our CHF.
The one you left off was Doc who was a great pick up until Father Time caught up.

I'm sure it can but I rate JoD higher and Buss' ceiling higher.

I have no doubt experience will turn Freijah into a very well balanced midfielder. Personally I'd be looking at building around Richards, Freijah and Sanders as the future of the midfield. I'm happy developing Hynes as the Half forward who can add grunt to the midfield when required. Biggest area to address for me is the guys who can play a key role in other positions and take 1-3 CBA's per quarter as POD's like a Grlj/Farrow off of half-back or Bryne/Dovaston adding to West and Hynes forward.

Ideally Butters replaces Sanders in this scenario but that is purely a dream at this point.

Gunston looked cooked at Brisbane 2 years ago yet won a BnF and AA this year

Naughton came 4th in defence in his first year and has since become an elite KPF

Keath was fantastic as was Jones until they weren't which again isn't the club not addressing it players kick on players don't

We finished 2 wins away from the team that finished 3rd and won the flag with Darcy/Bont missing over a month of footy each and our largest loss under 4 goals

We aren't that far off

Hate to tell you but we played Freo with everyone bar Flea available.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I've heard that Saints renegotiated Jones' contract to match our offer and he's decided to stay
