Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Probably depends on whether B.King leaves as RFA

Robbie D'Orazio manages Curnow, Hayward, Ugle-Hagan and King...

I'm wondering if D'Orazio gets his man (JUH) to the Suns, it ultimately helps getting Curnow out of Carlton by freeing up Walter out of Gold Coast.

I think Carlton members will cop Walter, Hayward & a couple of first round picks for Charlie leaving. And i suspect Wright & Davies know this too.

From a source close to the player -

Ben Ainsworth will happen today.
Great call. You're officially an ITK.

Ainsworth is absolutely perfect for us.

Mature player who is happy to play half forward and pinch hit in the center is exactly what we need.

Just to visualise this, he slots straight into the role we played Motlop in this year. But Motlop only gave us 7-8 center clearances and while he was ok at stoppage gave nothing else around the ground as a kid. Motlop didn't get to 20 touches once

Ainsworth can go 12-15 center bounces which really helps our key midfielders(for reference the main mids at most teams go 18-20 and at Carlton played 22-24 this year, which is part of why we were bad in second halves). His best games this year - 27 disposals and 3 goals Vs Brisbane, 22 and a goal Vs North, are big contributions.

He is tough and durable too, and as we know the best ability a player can have is availability.

I also think it implies we are not going to trade Charlie (because if we are bottoming out that future second is worth keeping, but if we aren't, it's easily replaceable)

SYDNEY:
Gain - Curnow & #36
Lose - 25' Rd.1 (#10), 26' Rd.1, Will Hayward & James Rowbottom.

GOLD COAST
Gain - Sydney's Rd.1 (#10), Carlton's Rd.1 (#9) & James Rowbottom
Lose - Jed Walter, #15 & #36

CARLTON:
Gain: Jed Walter, Will Hayward, #15 & Sydney's 26' Rd.1
Lose: Charlie Curnow & #9

Who is unhappy?

(I know Jed wouldn't be knowing he's been left out of the Suns Finals side only for them to bring in an unhinged Jamarra as another key forward he's going to have compete with)
Love this, made a slight tweak to include the Dees and Petracca plus some draft pick changes as much as i hate the mega trade rubbish they carry on about.

GOLD COAST
Gain
- Christian Petracca, James Rowbottom & Sydney's Rd.1 (#10)
Lose - Jed Walter, #15, #17 & #36

CARLTON:
Gain: Jed Walter, Will Hayward, #15 & Sydney's 26' Rd.1

MELBOURNE:
Gain: Carlton's Rd.1 (#9) & GC’s Rd.1 (#17)
Lose: Christian Petracca

If GC really want Trac and think they can get the best of JUH making Walter somewhat disposable they should be all in

Sydney the same with CC if they think he can get them over the edge.

I think it’s enough for Petracca but not sure where the Dees sit on that.

Leaves the Suns with 7, 8, 10, 29 & 36. Plenty of points to match Uwland at ~2 and Patterson at ~4.

Depending how desperate they’d be for Trac even changing 17 to 7 would still leave them with enough points to match their two main academy kids.

All a bit of a pipe dream though I guess, but I think it looks good for all parties given what they’re looking to achieve.

How are we drafting Dean here?

Damn right. I'd bank that.

Yep. People need to understand what this actually means for Motlop now too... he can play solely as a small forward! I think that will be good for his development.

Trying to understand why Gold Coast would want Rowbottom at all either...

He's a fine player, but their midfield is stacked with a good mix of players and they'll continue to get opportunities to add top 10 midfield types every other year via their academy.

There was a bit of rumbling about after Anderson and Rowell it gets thin...

I don't agree with that fwiw...

If gc where to add trac and rowbottom, does that then hurt Bailey regarding the roll and position he plays in the team?

They want to bolster their midfield outside of Rowell & Anderson come finals time.
Petracca helps.
+ more.

The thing about the Aisworth deal, is that it's shut the door on any other GCS trades.
There's no way CFC/GCS wouldn't have included him in a deal with Curnow if we were going to trade him there.
This also means unfortunately we aren't getting Humphrey.
