If you bring your politics into a football forum (of all places), don't cry like a baby and try and report it to a moderator if someone references it in a reply that you might not like. Yes he is entitled to his free speech in displaying it, but he is not entitled to silencing everyone else's free speech in reacting to it. It cuts both ways.Really nothing else to say stick to football he didn't mention a word and his entitled to display that picture
I work with the uncle of a well known player manager. He is usually pretty tight lipped but every now and then we get the occasional trickle, mostly from outside his wheelhouse.Spill it, campaigner

I work with the uncle of a well known player manager. He is usually pretty tight lipped but every now and then we get the occasional trickle, mostly from outside his wheelhouse.
Said player manager has players at the club and also is courting a number of draftees.
This is what I was told (take it or leave it couldn't care less).
1) If CDT isn't picked up by West Coast he will be a tiger. We are massively into him. I guess no surprises in a sense.
2) We rate Grlj very very highly. He said he'd be stunned if we didn't take him even if CDT slides to us.
I'll leave the 3rd piece to the other relevant thread.

I've come around to it, if that was the case I'd want to move back even 1 spot with essendon just to accumulate another pick or something to take a throw at the stumps either this yr or next yr.I work with the uncle of a well known player manager. Real lizard man aka Hicksy vibes hereThree bits of new actually. Two draft related and 1 player related.
Grlj is a tough campaigner. What a terrible comparisonGrlj reminds me of Aaron Fiora. Looks good but won't translate into senior football.
He's too small for what he offers imo.Grlj is a tough campaigner. What a terrible comparison
Yeah I agree, I was thinking from a WCE perspective its kind of a terrible draft to have Dursma and CDT rated 1 and 2 for them as they arent midfielders. It's probably a shame for them Sharp and Cumming (with his injury) weren't better although not sure how much better sharp could have been so it wouldn't have been a reach to take them 1 and 2. Seeing as we stocked up on some midfielders last yr it would have been ideal to have points of difference like dursma and cdt and then finish out midfield off next yr. Grlj should be a handy player and has for the majority of the yr been ranked around top 5-6 open pool so should be alright.Yeah I don't mind, i know we need mids but i was looking at it from Richmond's POV, we have Hopper & Taranto atm and IMO it would be unlikely that we load up on a heap of mids this season. Club knows this is a work in progress and perhaps there are better mids available next year?
Was thinking if CDT is rating through the roof and Eagles don't want him, then we should just take him. He could play anywhere really. Might not be the best ruck option but i reckon rucks are overrated position wise unless you get a real unicorn.
As for Grlj, I just really like him so if we fall a few spots and he is still available then great.
X.Taylor !!!He's too small for what he offers imo.

Could very well be, still think in an ideal world for you guys cumming doesn't get injured and sharp had have done the combine and looked like a decent to good athlete. Could have comfortably taken the SA boys together and not have to worry about go home factors or anything and then focused more on moving up the draft to pick the next piece of your team rather then having to move back.Still don’t think we’l have pick 2 come draft night, will belong to the Bombers or you guys. GCS and Dees an outside chance.
They do have Harley, reckon Sharp would be a perfect fit for them to help him out.Yeah I agree, I was thinking from a WCE perspective its kind of a terrible draft to have Dursma and CDT rated 1 and 2 for them as they arent midfielders. The same could have been said about Seth Campbell. I know we rookie listed him, but he can play at the level. Fiora was never aggressive at the contest, I’m not sure we can pass the same judgement on Grjl, on the small sample we saw when he played VFL. My knock on Grjl is he’s not strong overhead from the vision I’ve seen and may lack the discipline to play as a running half back. He's too small for what he offers imo.
Yeah I'm pretty confident between essendon, wce and us, we will all know which players we all want and just trying to work out fair compensation for each other via trades (wouldnt surprise me if young is tied in to this). From a WCE perspective my ideal world looks like this:
41 for Young (why not done???)
Then draft night:
1/ 13, 34, 38 for 7
2/
2,7 for 3,4 (RICH)
OR
2,7 for 5,6,21 (ESS)
Duursma, Sharp, Cumming for us, you or the Dons get CDT and choice of midfielder.
Will it happen? Hinges on the market for CDT.
Yeah I agree, I think they'll get sharp but it's probably a matter of whereThey do have Harley, reckon Sharp would be a perfect fit for them to help him out.

For example if richmond traded back and got the draper compo and 34 for young that would give richmond enough points at pick 15 from Gold Coast. Likewise you guys needing picks to move up the board etc, as stupid and irrelevant as it kind of sounds that young deal could be a key piece to it, how everyone values him.
unless they end up trading Merrett but that now seems unlikely.
