I think there is a real chance that we see a Hawthorn like rebound after D'Ambrosio, Meek, Chol were traded in.

Having Williams, Ainsworth and Elijah running through the forward line as one and throwing Motlop through there as the 4th is now looking juicy. Adding Chesser and Ollie running the wings and we are starting to see the run and carry, with full of offensive and defensive power!

Just need to structure up right!

Reckon a fit Cottrell makes a huge difference as well.

(Also means we can play Smith as the ‘extra’ mid/forward off the bench).

If CC goes we are down 4 talls with Reidy and Dean to come in. We need 2 recruit 2 extra talls(also have HOF out for the year so he should be on the LTI list and not rushed). This is assuming MCG stays unless Buku is recruited which is looking less likely as we go.

Know that they like to give hope / milestones for players in recovery, however if it’s realistically the year out, just place HOF as inactive and replace on the list for ‘26.

Think they should be able to get clearance to play VFL at the tailend of the season.

If we are concerned about list spots we could throw either/both into the Charlie trade and make it a requirement of the suitor to take on the ‘bad’ contract.

Swans RE a Charlie trade, need to open list spots, they can't take on bad contract dumps.

I like the addition of Ainsworth, but the trading out of a future 2nd kinda worries me.
We all know we’ve got Cody Walker coming next year and we’ve been told by the AFL that it’s gonna cost us big in draft capital.
If things don’t turn around for us next year our future 2nd could be a pretty decent pick, which could’ve helped us if we needed to trade up for Cody, for us to trade that future 2nd out, I’m preying to god we have a plan in place to replenish our 2026 draft hand.

We must never underestimate the AFL's incompetence

Cottrell makes very little difference. We need to move on from these types. Doesn’t get enough and do enough damage. Good depth though as a half forward.

Ainsworth comes straight in to the best 23. Chesser also a chance. Newman and Jagga from injuries. We should also acquire 2 starting 18 established players for the Charlie trade, giving the side a good change in complexion.

I know it’s a highlight package.
But I was very very impressed with what I saw.
Absolutely could be anything this kid.

I can see how it might seem that way, but just as an example, Port are in the same boat as us next year with Dougie Cochrane projecting to go top 2, a decent 2nd round pick might be enough of a Sweetener to get a club willing to slide back form say pick 11 to pick 16, which may be the difference in being able to match the required points
Port now have our 2026 2nd rounder, I’m just preying we have a plan in place to replenish that pick in our 2026 draft hand to some degree as it may come in very handy if we need to move one of our first round picks up a few place to match point required
