Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Frankly surprised at how unserious Geelong has been.

Why even talk about being engaged in getting a Deal if you won't make the moves to get the assets to offer?
I think they know they can't do it and always have but never hurts to ask.

They are treading a fine line between just asking and screwing a player over through. Getting a player to commit to you and then not being able or willing to bring them to your club can make your club sour to players and managers. That would be uncharted water for Geelong.

What looks serious to you from their perspective?

Imo they actually offered the best they could. It's easy to say throw players in, but if the players don't want to then there's nothing you can do.

I'm not sure why any player of worth would want to go from Geelong to Carlton, so in the end they threw up their 3 most valuable assets. Issue is they just aren't that valuable.

Where's the Poll ... Does Charlie go or does he stay?

But that's my point.

They can't get a deal done with what they have, and aren't willing to make moves to make it happen.

So why pretend like you can? Why make all these statements about being interested and engaging in getting a deal done when you can't?

Carlton forced Josh Kennedy back home when Judd was available. You don't play the media game when you intend to screw over the club with the cards.

Charlie should know they were committed to a point. Won't even rock the boat with players outside their top 10, even though they know they are Charlie's number one choice. Zero risk in that for Geelong. Sydney are braver.

I feel that it was more of a play act for St Kilda, as they offered that pick 19 for Marshall initially and they knocked it back, so they tabled it to us to make St Kilda panic.

IMO, Marshall to Geelong is > than Curnow and they should really try get him as the needed piece in their puzzle

Geelong still have to put geelong first they put together the best offer they could and carlton said no.
I dont think think geelong have promised curnow it will happen either.
It's not that deep mate

Maybe winners expect losers to fold in footy as they do in life?

Hope it's not too us!!

"Soft as butter" - as quoted from one of his ex-teammates.

Sounds like a shit ex-teammate. No wonder he is an ex.

And when it doesn't work? At what point do the roles reverse?

Just 'love' how various outlets are reporting that CC is willing to 'take a million dollar paycut' to get out of CFC. Do they not understand what a 'front loaded contract is..?

Ragebait. They know it's front-ended.

2025 R1, 2026 R1, Florent, Hayward = OK with me.

Same. People are acting like Charlie is the second coming. He has lost the trust.

We only want players who want to be here and are up for the fight.
