Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Somethings not right when we actively denigrate our A grade champion forward but pump up another teams C grader to make the trade look like a good deal.

Denigrate him? I love Charlie, but he and his manager have left on sour terms.

Can assure you that both Florent and Hayward will please Carlton fans next season if that’s what happens. Both were walk in pieces of Longmire’s tenure and played pretty much every game when available since 2017. Both got drafted together (11 and 21 respectively) and run a business together. Hayward is a coaches dream (except dean cox). Fantastic over head mark, absolute dead eye dick in front of goals, great pressure in the front half, really clean when the ball is on the ground. Plays like a tall and a small, literally the perfect forward. Can’t speak highly enough of Hayward, I’m sad we are losing him but obviously something has to give to get. I have no doubt Florent will rediscover the player he was under Longmire with a new system. Just went stale for him this year and he lost some confidence under Cox. Both are coming into their prime right now. Let’s just see what happens over the next couple of days though.

Nope, it certainly doesn’t haven’t to come from the swannies. Can come from anywhere.
Personally I’d love it to be Humphrey from GC, but I’m really hoping we stand firm on our wants and needs from this trade. We need to get overs and we need to be the clear winners in this trade.

I only found out recently. You need either 200 games or 10 years + 100 games. Don't think many would be getting to 200 games without the 10 years but it's possible I guess.

Do we think that maybe opposition defensive strategies might be stretched more or less by having 4-5 marking targets than just 2 surrounded by three defenders each every time?

Do we think that just maybe Chesser and Kamis add more run than Boyd / Binns and an errant Acres on a flank.

Do we think that maybe Cottrell and Newman and Kemp coming back into calculation might add some quality alternatives to Acres.

Will another preseason into Lord help as well as this Smith bloke that has been absent for a year to midfield run and kicking ability ?

Will Weitering and Walsh feel more freed up as leaders now that the whisperers are gone.? Will Cripps be relieved not to have to have any of the 'whisperers' back ( to carry and excuse) anymore?

I wonder if the coaching staff might have more ability to implement a more rounded game plan if they have added run to the midfield and kicking ability into the forward fifty?

The only real missing I can see remaining are support for Weitering and a gun ruckman.-= support for Weitering being the #1 priority.

It's obvious the additional asset in the Humphrey deal has unlocked the 'ku.

A third of the round 1 team could be new faces.

Maybe he was part of the problem, have you considered that?

I think the problem has been well embedded before SOS and his old man. This is a culture thats grown like a cance fir decades Hopefully Wright will be start to erode into it

Florent is an ok player, but isn't what we need. I see him as stunting the growth of Charleson and Carrol who should surpass him in time. Even Big Footy favourite Billy Wilson would be further back in the pecking order if Florent came. Sure we need to raise the floor, but you also need to be able to give opportunity to youth or they just end up wasting a spot on the list (i.e. Lemmey)
