Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

If we get hosed it's pretty obvious that Charlie only wanted to play at two of those three clubs.

Then the first point I raised is the reality, Charlie just wanted out from us, we should've told him we are bringing in more clubs to deal with as the Swans cant get it done.

The only unforgivable result is a 4 year contracted player forcing our hand with 1-2 clubs.

I think the problem here is the undervaluing of the team psyche. We’ve needed to reset the team’s attitude and a big component of going from nonchalant about success, to blind determination is the departure of Charlie and others like him.

It’d be worth keeping this in mind when you’re about to throw the toys out of the cot because we aren’t landing Tony Lockett

Unless its West Coast F1, Hayward and Humphrey/Walter in a 3-way trade, I can't think of a world where it makes sense. Never mind what some around here are willing to accept by way of being beaten down and now desperate to kick Charlie out for anything... taking unders or an average deal for Charlie like what people are losing their minds about simply does not make sense given the Davies and Walsh rhetoric.

Gotta be something more to it. I'll wait until we know before losing my mind. I'm still of the view that if we're at the point where Swans/Cats offers are below amazing, keep him.

Also, last year it was Tuesday where we knew what the Pick 3 deal was effectively going to be. So, I'm hoping we know something closer to reality today at some point.

Need to remember, Charlie isn't a top 6 player at Carlton... he's top 3... only behind Cripps and Weitering.

Shit attitude and poor season aside, you don't let go of that level of asset for unders unless he's so badly injured, that he's no chance of reproducing his best. Sydney would've hung up the phone after his medical if that was even close to reality.

We are trading the most valuable asset this trade period and are not getting a sure thing back. Paying 1 good and 1 average player a combined $1.2m, more than Charlie was on.

Sounds really bad like that.

On the other hand, we might be replacing a 65 goal a year forward with a 40 goal a year forward (Hayward).

AND getting a solid HBF with good ball use (Florent), which we badly need.

AND getting a first round pick to get us half of Cody.

AND maybe something else.

Losing Charlie for multiple lesser parts may not be a disaster when you factor in the total impact to our list.
