Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

What would Florent be on, wouldnt be in the top 15 paid players at Sydney so prob $600k, we pay some absolute spuds more than that.

I think he'll probably be on more then that. Also we are trying to fix that problem of over paying players. Not adding more to that list. There are also certain amount of list spots available. We can't just keep adding players if want to have a crack at a humphrey or butters next year. That 700k to florent could go towards humphrey or butters

Minimum I'd be asking for on top of the 2 players + 2 firsts is 32, on-traded for Khamis.

Middle ground I'd ask for is another F2 on top of 32 or another F1 (doing them a favour taking Florent's salary).

What I hope GW and CD do is tell them to go jump and Charlie will be a Blues player in 2026.

Why?

Regardless of the Charlie situation, he's contracted for 4 years and will have to suck it up and put on his big boy pants, returning to us for preseason - as has been the public discourse by us the whole time.

Sure, if he weren't contracted or they held the power, the 'minimum' deal above is arguably fair (without 32). But that's the equivalent of us owning a mansion we still aim to get the best years out of and a broker coming to our house and offering market price. Where is the benefit to sell? If the broker (Swans/Cats) want to take our mansion off us and get those years, pay above market price (and then some).

I hope Davies and Wright understand this. I think Sydney do but are posturing/still putting their deal together.

Charlie's manager in this case is being an absolute DH and obscuring facts and reason. Hope he gets sacked.

Clubs will still pay a lot for a key forward in their latter peak years.

Its just laughable how some of the posters here only view Charlie with rose coloured glasses and act like he jags 70 goals year in, year out.

Reality is he’s only kicked 50 plus three times in 9 years…

So why does he have such great trade value?

Don't get me wrong. I think he is a valuable commodity and that's why I'm not critical of him like many on here. he was, IMV, a great player before he wanted out and still is. I would much prefer a motivated Charlie than anything we can get for him. Sadly I think that train seems to have left the station.

Until something is concrete and done, its up in the air is my view. As the word of the trade period, it could all just be 'posturing'

Im seeing alot of carlton supporters here that dont understand florent is a salary dump for Sydney and that if we are really interested in him which I'm hoping graham Wright and austin are smarter then that he should not be included in any curnow deal.
Their 2 firsts arnt the best but if that's all they have it would have to be those 2 firsts Hayward and either campbell/datolli
We r doing them a favour if we are stupid enough to have florent a part of the trade

I’d be content with one of Datolli or Campbell in the deal that would make it a fair deal which I think would please majority of supporters.

There are players that can individually change the course of a game. Then there are the other 95% of players. Charlie has shown what he is capable of, and at his best can turn a team into a premiership contender. That makes him hugely valuable in the right environment.

So pony up Sydney.
