Yeah, Essendon protected Draper compensation by this trade. That's why is baffling we got less than compensation pick we would get for free agent Fiorini. I probably miss something, haha. Let's see how it all plays out including draft.

Essendon’s F3 can be live traded on draft night for probably a late 2nd Rounder to secure another academy prospect.

Plus there’s no need to have a list spot open for it since it’s a future pick. Good trade.

I’ll probably miss Fiorini the most out of the group.

Yeah Flanders has a higher ceiling but Fiorini stayed the whole time and could have left, worked his ass off and had video game numbers in the VFL to be one of the best wingers in the comp. Now he leaves a hole on the wing and no true replacement just yet.

Hopefully gets a proper crack at the Bombers, potentially inside if Merrett leaves

I'd say Clohesy takes the spot back. Fiorini took it while he was injured. Good team player but over the many years, just never performed to his expected talent level.

Feel like nowadays a lot of first year players are able to keep up with a role on the wing, I'd like to say Uwland and Patterson rotate on HB and Wing because of Pattersons pace and Uwlands lethal boot but Noble and Rioli have the HBFs locked down that I'm not sure.


I'd love to see em both get 15-20 games this season, especially with that extra spot on the bench

Feel like nowadays a lot of first year players are able to keep up with a role on the wing, I'd like to say Uwland and Patterson rotate on HB and Wing because of Pattersons pace and Uwlands lethal boot but Noble and Rioli have the HBFs locked down that I'm not sure.

I’m happy to be proven wrong, my thinking is that it’s such a demanding role on the players running ability that you need someone who can play significant minutes so that you don’t over rotate everybody else. Guess we’re gonna find out.

Running power is one of his key strengths. He'll be fine barring injuries but Fiorini was a winger through necessity not naturally. Not a high bar but he did have a decent year.

I think there's only that Archie ? that played pre GF game will be the only obvious target..unless a bolter shows up...so grab all this year's crop and settle for a bit. Addinsal getting interest from Vic clubs is the whisper. Hopefully we get all of the Big Five!
