Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Not ideal, but in fairness, these guys were happy at their club, settled in Sydney and now told they need to upend their lives and make a life changing decision, with 2 days notice while on holidays overseas in Brazil.

On top of that the club theyre leaving looks to be getting the missing piece to their premiership puzzle while they depart for a team thats middling at best.

Can understand them not being thrilled but if they were super against it they wouldnt come. Plus will want to prove Sydney wrong.

Pertinent point, these are peoples lives

I am not concerned at all about Hayward. He was obviously very interested in Carlton last year when he was a FA. Then said just before the trade period opens publicly that he would be open to being in a trade and that there aren't many clubs he would be willing to play. Also said he likes Voss.

The frustration would be from the fact that he took less money to stay at the Swans and a year later he is now being pushed out so they can chase a contracted player.

I am in the camp that does not want to return #22 in the trade, but in all fairness, Hayward is a quality player we were prepared to stump up $800k per season to twelve months ago. Adding Florent who has been an excellent role player for many years, not fair to judge him on the Cox preferences, has to be seen as best 22, even though I would prefer to play the kids. A good first rounder this year and a highly valuable future first are premiums. Yeah a chance Swans go nuts with Charlie up front, but also a chance he goes down injured while we have some premos from their team.

The financial balances are going to be quite critical, Hayward + Florent likely takes more salary cap than Charlie alone. We have added Ainsworth on decent money. The salary cap we have “banked” from TDK, JSOS, Charlie, Doc and a couple of other departures will be partly offset from potentially absorbing Elijah’s contract and maybe another. If we are contemplating a left field acquisition (as hinted by a certain ITK very recently), it get’s tight. Maybe Swans do cop a little salary from Florent which is unlikely to be made public.
