Unrestricted Free Agent Tarryn Thomas - Cleared to return by the AFL

We can hold two thoughts at once: what Thomas did was serious and unacceptable; and a club with proven appetite for oversight might be the safest place for the long, unglamorous work of reform.

And that club is Geelong.

Only their environment - stable, insular, relentlessly adult - is built to absorb the performative noise this recruit will no doubt attract.

If the AFL is serious about supervised redemption rather than theatre, it should do more than merely “allow” Geelong; it should prefer them. The Cats have a documented knack for turning the discarded into the functional - even the exceptional (see: Stengle, delisted to All-Australian) - because they pair duty of care with duty of consequence.

This is not absolution. It is probation with a football attached. Let Geelong set the terms: education, reporting, zero-tolerance tripwires. Which is why the mooted AFL-funded additional rookie spot could prove to be the perfect containment vessel - a sealed crucible where Thomas' progress is measured, not presumed, and where the steady hand of Andrew Mackie rests on the kill-switch.
This was sensational.

One of is four posts is aggressively talking up TT going to Geelong.

Obviously an alt and not a real Geelong supporter.....
And a very entertaining one i might add.

I’m a believer in second chances but he’s on about chance 17 now.

I wonder how people would feel if he said he would donate 25% of his salary for the rest of his AFL career to a local DV charity and volunteer etc. That would show a sufficient degree of remorse and contribution towards addressing the harm he’s caused imo. But if hes the same guy as before, you’d hope no club takes him on.

Great idea.

He can have Chris Scott and Bailey Smith as mentors to teach him how to treat women.

I thought he was arrested recently on drugs charges? Or was he just a witness.
Im starting to think there was something more to the story of him selling his car at 9pm behind a pub to 2 men who then kidnapped him and forced him to sign the papers and rob him over several hours.

No way cripper is a 14 handicap.
Can't kick under pressure
Can't chip kick
Can't goal kick.
What hope can he hit straight, chip and putt to be off 14 handicap?
None. Has the leverage but not the talent. I reckon he could bomb a 4iron 215 (off a tee) but would struggle around the greens.

You'd think with that time off, that it would be at a handicap of 5, or at worse, a 9.

Yeh it's a bit disappointing to be honest.

I mean Mitch Lewis has spent half his career on the recovery bed and he's playing off scratch now.

Now that's a bonafide superstar.

PGA or LIV?

I can't wait for someone cool like Ben Long to kick him in the ****in head lmao
