Apologies for any inconvenience. We will try to find a replacement.
Four years later and still bitter. You made two grand finals without him.yep it was poison unders that's what you get dealing with them, was very happy they got beaten in straight sets would have taken Collingwood winning over them, we accepted it not that it was a great deal. Though I half blame the AFL as if we could have traded future picks we may have got a fairer deal
You can't read???? We traded with Melbourne's F1 and gave the pick to Sydney which was pick 14 and yes it was consider overs at that time.

Was that the pick that could’ve been Weddle but you traded it to the Hawks?
Just checked, it was the Weddle pick. You'd be bitter too if you had to accept 10c in the dollar for an asset. Was the only time I was happy Collingwood won last year.

Time passes quick my friend. I remember when Brisbane were the joke of the competition. Went to the AFL begging for help, had the go home five, and were a basket case. In 10 years you could be there again.you're right. The last 6- 8 weeks from your club has been fantastic. Good work Derick
Pick 14 was overs at that time. Good player so was worth a late 1st rounder. On what planet was that considered overs? Maybe Adelaide's planet but no one else's.
You can't blame Brisbane for this anyway it takes two to tango both clubs share the equal blame
Have it on good authority that he is p*ssed with Brisbane over this and some of the other players are upset with the treatment of Ah Chee aswell.
Just checked, it was the Weddle pick.
Would’ve been a pretty handy replacement.
Meanwhile we’ve never asked for a single thing.Time passes quick my friend. I remember when Brisbane were the joke of the competition. Went to the AFL begging for help, had the go home five, and were a basket case. In 10 years you could be there again.
Never sprout off when you are on the top, because what goes around, comes around.
Just accept the fact that he didnt want to go to Port Power. Can still take him.. give him the choice, play AFL for us or sit in the reserves sulking for a year if doesn’t get the beloved Crows and trade the following year if the cap space is otherwise siting free.
Nah it’s relevant. It ended up being a great pick but you didn’t use it.Irrelevant as you had an earlier selection but I blame the AFL more! Future picks should have been allowed decades ago, that would have sorted it out.
$2.5M contract for 2 years up front to $2M for the first year????
The cap can be evened out by restructuring players payments over their contracts. And I’m sure the Crows have 10% of their salary cap just sitting free and will be looking to pay him 2M straight up as well.
We’re not the ones needing to save cash to match a Butters deal AND try for Bailey.well yer it's almost what we offered nwm and why would Adelaide have so much more cap space than anyone else?
Its all water under the bridge now. Brisbane won't be getting any picks, so it doesnt matter. The narrative is that Adelaide’s 2nd round next year is less valuable because based on this year it will likely fall as a pick around 40. Pick 40 is trash for a player like Cal. It values him as a spud against someone like Tylar Young (who I’d never heard of).
Dom Ambrogio said he worked with other clubs to see if they would be interested trading for the picks Adelaide was proposing to give us (f2 and f3) but no one wanted them because they’d be junk.
I think you’re missing the point Snuffmaster!
He doesnt want to go to the Power. He doesnt rate them.and also Ports in Adelaide to..... so his family will still be happy....

Not in the slightest. We will still have millions with which to get Zac Bailey with next year. That would negatively impact the Crows salary cap as well.
You would have to go to players, asking them to push back salary. That would impact your ability to fit future trades in to your salary cap.
A player doesnt have to talk to any team he doesn't want to go to. If a player is at the end of his contract he is free to tell any team he doesnt want to go to that he will sit out the year, or not go to the club if they pick him.So draft tampering.
Well, Ah Chee thought a F2 was fair value for him so..........Well he can suck it up, perhaps look at his potential new club, it's not all Brisbane's fault.
Imagine if they did take him anyway in the PSD at say 1.2 million for his 1st 2 years, and then Butters wants to leave next year and port can't match a RFA bid as they are out of cap space and have to accept a mid 1st for him OR they have to shed more players they don't want to to free up extra cap space. List management conundrums ehHe doesnt want to go to the Power. He doesnt rate them.
Its just a fact. Brisbane won't be getting any picks for him now.Top shelf analysis old boy. I presume you only fly at low altitudes?
I guess that's why all the impartial commentators in the media were saying that Brisbane were the unreasonable ones who wanted more than his value.Adelaide steering the narrative away from their junk offer which they wouldn’t budge on and PSD threats and bringing Cals family into it to further that narrative is a bit unpalatable. Effectively saying that Brisbane should have just accepted whatever the Crom were offering.
For anyone that knows Cal he is a very humble and low key guys so I don’t expect he would be fond of this tact. Interesting approach.
