I thought the list size can only be 44 regardless of the make up.

36-38 senior, up to 6 rookies and 2 Cat B.

So 36-6-2, 38-4-2, 38-6-0.

That was the google AI response. I'll go looking.
AI is unreliable. Stamos is.

AI got it wrong?

To be fair, the official list size charts is hidden in an appendix of an AFL rules document. I had to go through a few to find the current one. No search engine pointed to it.

Not inspiring news tbh...

At his age he is not going to show anything that he hasn't already.

Purely a case of losing HOF for the year, Silvagni to Stains and Khamis at the trade table. Very lucky man.

Hopefully break glass option. I want names like Cowan Dean Newman Haynes to play ahead of him in defence and Moir Kemp Hayward HOK up forward

Oh, everyone I watch says Charleson is uncontracted. Frank was done a while back wasn't he? I hope you're right, because he has the most potential of all those waiting.

We've heard nothing official from the club about new contracts for Franky, Charleson & Monahan. Similarly nothing about Flynn Young. I had thought he was on a 6-month contract (ending now), but I can't find verification.

From Oct 13 (AFL): https://www.afl.com.au/news/1441851...ig-new-deal-stalemate-in-blues-bulldogs-talks

"MORE THAN 40 PLAYERS STILL IN LIMBO
...Carlton has told the same to veteran defender Mitch McGovern and rookie recruit Will White, though Harry Charleson and Francis Evans will be rolled over on the rookie list with new deals for 2026."

From Sep 29 (Irish news): https://www.independent.ie/regional...ith-carlton-blues-in-the-afl/a1088397694.html

"Former Kerry underage footballer Rob Monahan has agreed a new one-year contract with the Carlton Blues that will keep him at the Melbourne-based Australian Rules club for at least a third season in 2026."

If above is true, then it's Will White remaining without a contract, and possibly Flynn Young.

The AFL could probably fit all the List, Trade and Draft rules in layman's terms in a single A4 sized page.

Imagine them doing that and then putting it on their website with an easy to find link.

It's even worse than that. The AFL website still has old, misleading information viewable.

Seriously? I read the latest rules and promptly forget them. What hope do I have? We need to have a stickied post in this thread.

It's 42/2 max, with the 42 involving a minimum of 36 senior listed players (max 38) and a maximum of 6 Cat A rookies (minimum 0).

In theory, clubs can go as low as 36/0/0 if they want.

EDIT: updated with minimum senior list and rookie list numbers.

Meh. Bloody Lucky IMO. Has the talent to be a star but too conditional and lazy. I understand the reasoning but he better be clear on effort needed. If he is allowed to get away with same crap he did this year Voss is gone. Can't be tolerated ever again.

I assume it's on a very base wage

I hope we still get a genuine KPD like Phillips added to list
Agreed. The main issue, at least for me, is that he doesn’t seem to trust his body (for good reson). You can really see the difference when he’s putting in the effort and even then, it feels like it’s only a matter of time before another injury happens.

Apparently McGovern has accepted a 1 years contract from 2026.
Will White and Flynn Young are still waiting, while we finalize our draft strategy and list analysis. Boyd and E Hollands are the big question marks.

I think White is in trouble. I hope that Charleson has re signed as he looked good to me

IMO we need three draft spots and at least one more for a DFA or SSP.

Gov signing was a bit of a hold up.
Needs to do plenty of work to get fit now.
Toby Greene could be calling him skinny Papley by mistake.
Delistings will be announced soon.
