And sure, in 1½ quarters of football, Brisbane completely annihilated us but don't be fooled, Geelong threw in the towel and allowed them to do as they pleased in the last quarter.
I'm not sure that your club folding like a house of cards in the last quarter once they realised they couldn't win is exactly a ringing endorsement of the club's character / resilience...

It was utterly pitiful but I know they're hurting right now which gives me hope they are not going away as most people seem to be predicting.

And you guys were just far too good on the day but come on, you dropped off the face of the earth for over a decade and needed AFL assistance along the way because you were so poor on and off the field. This was before Fagan appeared. Even then, you still finished bottom last and continued to receive the best talent in the country at the national draft.

Your supporters are acting like the club is an example of what success is. Other than Gold Coast, no other team has been given the royal treatment like Brisbane have over the years.
classic melt, it will all eventually catch up with Geelong them sweeping everything under the carpet, what royal treatment? we got 1 end of round 1 compensation pick, lol huge hand outs

just more complaining, I noticed Chris the know all coach Scott had a big cry about father sons, ironic that the club that has had the most success from father sons would complain about it at the exact moment they no longer have any!

was probably the most laughable comment of the year

Are you aware of the academy free hits you are getting?
No ... unless you are referring to the bidding rights to academy players that cost picks that we paid for (to the advantage of other teams who ended further up the draft than they would have otherwise) at whatever level the rest of the comp valued them at (so far the highest being pick 20 iirc) that were put in place with the triple purpose of combatting the inherent geographical advantages of the southern clubs (travel + travel costs (in the soft cap) + 3rd party options ... all of which still exist so put that one down as a balancing factor to enhance equity), the go home factor, and expanding the game and draft pool for the AFL ... none of which in any normal lexicon of the English language would be described as 'free'.

Multiple first round priority picks on the other hand ...

what free hits, say hi to Isaac kako for me which is the real rorts not the academies that provide greater talent and a more even distribution of talent as opposed to the 0-1 Queenslanders drafted every year prior to the academies

Cats would very likely not have 4 AFL flags right now sans father/sons. Foolish comment by poor loser C Scott.

It's a fun fact that the Cats would probably be back 2 back premiers if not for the Lions.

Imagine spreading false garbage like that to try and justify your own viewpoint.

Here I am probably chatting to some middle aged, unhealthy slob with no future prospects 😔
you have an obsession with brisbane, the cal ah chee thread, the rayner thread where you said mannagh has had a better year than rayner lol and all the other ridiculous shit you said in the thread and your obsession with the brisbane "hand outs"

so many melts its all too funny

WoW, a lot of salty Geebung polo club supporters on this thread.
They were flogged, and rightly so.
Let it go Geelong, let it go.
Dude! What did the Geebungs ever do to deserve such disrespect? They chose to die rather than accept defeat. There is no way they would have put up such a pea hearted effort on Grand Final day.

"Lololol look at arrogant Geelong supporters melting" over the past month/5 pages of this thread = one troll account created after the GF (CatDan, not a Geelong supporter, banned) and one who isn't allowed to post on the Geelong board.

Nevermind the hundreds of posts elsewhere acknowledging Brisbane are simply a better team who also performed much more strongly on the day. Their best has been better than anybody else's for 2 years and the same will be true in 2026.

Honestly I’ve found Geelong fans to be mostly great. Think there’s a lot of mutual rort respect between clubs and fans alike ❤️

Yep, we've rorted 3 of the last 4 flags and a few more grand final/prelim final appearances between us. A job well done.

If this is the big cat era (2017-current), we've at least helped create a lot of memorable and cherished Tigers/Lions moments. We also got a nice consolation flag in the middle of those runs. Dangerfield should be left to surf out his retirement at least somewhat contented and caffeinated.
