Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Kemp should be ok for second half of the year.Verrrrrrry slow recovery.
Id put kemp on LTI too, we all know when he’s ready there will be another LTI to take his place. Gives us 2-3 train on lost spots. If for any other reason than to test the gods into us getting ****ed over having no list spots available when kemp is ready. I’d take that over what we usually cop from the gods.

Just had a look at the main footy forum for the first time in months and it has not changed, 7 of the 30 threads on the front page are about Carlton! 🤣
I just posted on all Carlton related pages on the first 4-5 pages of threads. We now have 11/30 of all the first page threads. lol.

Most of the talkback today on both SEN and 3AW were callers whinging about all the prime time games we were getting this year and that we didn’t deserve them - must of these callers were Filth - we live rent free in there heads 🤣

If what I’ve heard about Walsh taking Lij under his wing, I’d say that he’ll be making sure that Lij puts himself through the wringer to ensure he gets one of the rookie slots. Especially if HOF goes on the LTI list after the draft. I really don’t expect to see HOF play next year, just like I expect to see Kemp only getting limited senior time next year.

It has been mentioned in here several times.

Sure to mean everyone posting here has legit opinions. No trolls.

Everyone loves to hate us.

Even some Carlton supporters these days...

If you want something less Carlton centric than the main board .... visit the Blueseum :D

White is a good “Carlton supporter growing up“ news story…

Hollands is a good AFL level player.

IMO. If Hollands can hit his targets and prove his over his demons, then it’s a no brainer rookie spot for me.
Mental health isn't something you 'get over'. In all likelihood this will be something that Lij manages for the rest of his life. He'll have times where he manages it better and times where he won't be so good with it. It's the nature of what it is.

If that's the way we're viewing it (he's completely over his issues), we're going to end up sorely disappointed.

Not saying this isn't true but I was speaking to a source close to Will White and they said he isn't too worried about Elijah taking a SSP spot from him (despite the obvious talent difference). Said there were 4 players offered train on spots for currently 1 position but assumed O'Farrell would be put on the long term injury list which would open up a second spot.

Also said while Will is happy to stay at Carlton he would nominate for the rookie draft in the hopes of a more secure future.

Hope Will lands a spot somewhere, whether that's with us or not. But his belief that Elijah won't get a spot (if that's what he believes) is very much personal opinion and potentially a bit of wishful thinking.

Could also interpret the comments above as "he's not worried about Lij taking a spot from him because he's assuming HOF will free up a second spot and he's confident he'll get that".

If we do sign Lij and everything goes well, will be interesting how we handle future contract negotiations.

I see some people saying he should never get more then a 1 year contract again, but that would make it near impossible to retain him particularly since we've made him a free agent for life now.

Honestly mate I am only telling you what I heard from a close source and while yes it may just be a personal opinion - it is also a personal opinion from someone who has been at the club, knows the feeling inside the club towards Elijah and would know much more about Elijah's behaviour this year. Which IMO makes it a much more valuable "personal opinion" than the "personal opinion" you have expressed here

The source I spoke to specifically referenced Elijah's behaviour as reason for Will's confidence - but also did mention the likelihood of 2 spots being opened up and the fact that only 4 people were being asked to train over the summer (2 of which were from outside the club) does increase the chances of selection for both Will and Elijah.

Isn't it because he expects HOF to be put on the LTI list opening up another spot
That certainly helps but again - there is 4 people being asked to train - if one of the other players took the first spot and it came down to Will or Elijah, Will is confident that he would beat Elijah because of Elijah's self inflicted damage caused by behavioural issues
