Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

It needs to be the right one. Case in point Lemmey. We drafted him because we needed a developing key forward and its ended up being pointless.

Supporters carried on for years we needed a developing KPD. We didnt draft one but now in the space of 2 drafts we have HOF and Dean.

Need to wait for things to line up. Forcing it just wastes picks and list spots. If we need more depth now grab a mature age guy that can 100% do that job.

Without knowing what's available next year in draft we will possibly have 3-4 picks inside top 30. A heap of points will go to Walker but we will likely have excess

We could easily pick up another KPP next year and also use 2027 picks to trade for one.

Without doing much research I would be looking for a developing type that may be about to step up.

Mckay is 28 in December he is now our only genuine key forward on the list, HOK is developing still believe he is more ruck/forward than a natural forward, Kemp had a couple of games but is unproven, Young is emergency back up.

We definitely need to draft a young developing key forward.
Young will be lucky to get a contract for 2027 and is a break glass in emergency player. Hudson O’Keefe is a ruckman first and like you stated developing. Also has existing hamstring issues at only 20 years of age.

Depends what we do. Young is just a very handy list player than can play some decent football. 200cm player that can fill ruck, KPF and KPD is good to have on list and still in his prime

I thought Young finished the season well, you don't have to get a star KPP just one that does his job.

I actually like Young as a player. Just reality with Dean, and HOF coming list spots will be a premium.
Young can do a job in a few positions, he's a keeper for mine.

Just because Lemmey didn't work out should not be justification for not drafting another young tall whether that is this draft or the following year definitely need a developing tall, if Harry goes down our replacements are pretty much zero.

Not sure anyone is suggesting forcing it, merely that is a clearly a area of need.

I have no doubt that if possible we would have traded up for CDT this year. We were trying to move up but apparently no one close to biting and then possible Dean bid made it nearly impossible

As I have mentioned this is a 2 year reset.

Weitering McKay HOF HOK and Dean is our KPP options next year. Young is back up

I think we will bring in a KPD and will look next year to get another KPF if possible. No doubt we want another one it's just how and who

Logan Morris, Hipwood, Cam Rayner plus elite small forwards like Lowman, Cameron and Bailey.

Who are our elite small forwards?
Lohmann has kicked 57 goals in 53 games, Motlop has 59 in 63 - considering Lohmann plays for Brisbane and is getting the third or forurth best small defender and Motlop plays for Carlton and is getting the best small defender i think that compares pretty well

In the 2025 year Motlop also averaged more disposals, tackles & clearances and pretty much the same score involvements (4.0 to 3.9)

I would also like to see how the addition of Ainsworth & Hayward to a forward line that hasn't played a lot together (Motlop, Moir, Evans & McKay) evolves before I make any big investments either way.

Agree totally was quite keen on CDT also as a TDK & Curnow replacement.
Based on Dean & Walker talking up our draft capital we may need to look at the free agency market.

Totally different players and forward types between Lohmann & Motlop.
