Alright, back on track. I've whipped up a quick consensus again – will add the missing ones as they're made available.

That’s not how you spell Caleb Windsor.

I actually thought Grlj resembled Christian Moraes a fair bit, but **** I’m happy to take a headless chook after a decade of the 3 plodders.
So you don't like Windsor but you want to take a Windsor.. make up your mind ffs.

I don’t mind Windsor, just prefer Curtin.

If there was a Dan Curtin available at our pick this year I would be advocating for him. Instead it’s a shit draft so we are stuck with either a Rosman or a Windsor.

I think being a quick team isn't necessarily leg speed either, it's ball movement and a teams ability to hit a target. I think that's a part of why Geelong have been so good for so long, they always seem to use the ball so well and cut teams open with good skills rather than leg speed.

They have Holmes and Smith tearing it up is handy. Speed is important now, we saw how exposed blokes like Oliver were without it. Especially on the G.

GMHBA also has basically no wings so it’s not a good comparison. Teams like Pies and Hawks have relied heavily on speed on the big open grounds like the G. Teams without speed like Carlton and the Dees have struggled recently.

Good comparison, looks exactly like a Chandler 2.0
You’re not going to like this.

He can look exactly like a Chandler - and in that way could be described as a Chandler 2.0.

But he can’t look exactly like a chandler 2.0 because there is no Chandler 2.0 - or not until he is appointed a Chandler 2.0. And if that was to happen, then you would really be saying he looks exactly like himself. Which, while in some ways true, is both redundant since most people are the mirror image of themselves (if holding a mirror) and also quite odd.

Cheers.

I never said it wasn't important, just that it isn't the be all end all.

I think what Geelong has done so well is because they draft, develop and trade in players that give their coach (a very good one) the tools to work with in the game plan and on game day.

Speed and running power with Dempsey, Holmes and smith. Took risks on small fwd and X factor types like Stengel and Martin. Even Miers is the type that many looked at his limitations not his strengths as a F50 distributor. Big and athletic players who can be plugged in multiple areas like blicav, SDK etc.

They have lots of good kicks and decision makers for sure but there just isn't enough of them available each year or on the open market to just build your team of only that type.

"Good kicks" also come in different forms. Long left footer with penetrating kick coming out of the backline or switching the play across the ground quick enough to actually take advantage. Nimble player who can kick off both feet, well balance, can read/recognise leading lanes or pockets of space can kill a team with dinky kicks inside the F50 (but doesn't really work in defense).

The Demons haven't nominated Next Generation Academy prospect Toby Sinnema, with the Dandenong Stingray a chance to be a train-on option after the draft if not selected.
That's stupid. We need his type like last week.

Agree on the type, but that doesn't mean we take just anyone. If we're looking at it that way then we might as well say - Well we have Henderson, Sharp, McAdam etc maybe we don't need a small forward?

Let's just hold until we see what happens tomorrow night, think there will be some things in the works and we may not have completely settled yet.

100%. With where our list is I dont give a **** about filling positions, just get guys who we think have the biggest upside and go from there. Plenty of holes that cant be filled in one offseason.

So Jason Taylor just confirmed on gettable that they're not going to be moving up or down in the draft or trading any future picks.
Was reasonably firm on it, but he's one of the best poker faces and always plays a straight bat so wouldn't completely count it out - Especially when he also said he expects a few surprises at the top end.

Sandra-ing myself given the other thread, but this is probs suited here (definitely sounds like he likes Farrow).

still can't believe that not 1 of these 'experts' has come out to say whether the Dees would take Sharp or not if Farrow is gone and Rich don't take Grlj. Its poor reporting being it's one of the main shapers of the first round.

Not really sure what you mean? They're not going to go through every one of the thousands of scenarios, but a few reports have said Sharp is likely to get passed us if he's still on the board at our picks. That makes it pretty clear doesn't it?

Lamb pulled up stumps for the year after he got 3 firsts for Trac.

Was thinking about it last night, Xavier Taylor on his own if he slips through is probably worth more than a 30 year old broken Trac on 1.5m a year. Let alone another 2 firsts to go with it.
