I don’t agree, I like the return of the concept, might not be at the best time of year but it won’t be played at full pace and there should always be eagles representation in a wa side.

You've obviously never seen a real state of origin match. They're feice uncompromising. If players aren't going to play like that then you're watching a game of tag.

I’ve never seen a live state of origin football match, they stopped before I was born. I’ve seen nsw vs qld and yes they are a spectacle because of the competitiveness. I’d love that in the afl version too, and it may come in time.

I give more of a shit about spam emails supposedly from Nigerian princes than I did the email from the club about SOO.
In a way I'm thankful we're bad enough that not many of our player will be risking injury playing in this ****ing waste of time.

This will only guarantee the absolute decline in quality care from the health professionals inside the four walls of clubs. It will see complete dilution of valued experienced leaders in their respected field.
Expect to see players seeking further medical/rehab and specialist assistance outside of the clubs.
If you want to know why players need to see guys like enda king or bill Knowles outside club land, along with a pathetic budget in the soft cap to pay them, this is why.

The problem with the concept now is not the time of years or the pace of the game.
Its that for everyone involved and interested, players/fans etc, the pinnacle achievement in AFL is the Grand Final.
Unlike the NRL, where it could be argued that they see the SoO as a similar, if not the higher, prestige to that of a primership.
I love WA and want us to be the best at everything, but I have zero internet in seeing a representative state team beat another state team, while West Coast are still around.
WE as a comp moved on from the idea of representative games, unlike the NRL. I'm sure the players will have fun, but it's not and never will be taken seriously by them, therefore it will always be a gimmick match
