very interesting, hard to pick it, wasn't he supposed to got at pick 10 with late mail and we got him with pick 20. Really wished we had a few more late picks, 30 and 40 s we had to get schubert, marsh, greeves, there was a small forward you wanted too, perhaps getting greedy.188cm medium forward with a massive tank, strong leading patterns and good contested marking.
We can make him the Gunston protégée or develop him on the wing like Dempsey/Curtin.
Great value selection at our pick!
I am a fan of that 188cm, mobile forward type with strong hands in modern footy.188cm medium forward with a massive tank, strong leading patterns and good contested marking.

Strange comparison.
a lot shorter than Gunston.
Classic Hawthorn pick, with development of a high ceiling in mind. The game that got Nairn fanfare was an 11 disposal, 5-mark, 7 goal game where he was marking everything.
Across the year he averaged 20 disposals, 1.7 goals, 3.8 tackles and had a disposal efficiency of 86% at Unders 18s.
His last three games revealed some untapped potential. He moved into the midfield and had 22, 30, 31 disposals games while still hitting the scoreboard.
Has an October DOB and this was his first year in the state program. That’s a considerable rate of development.
It feels like a high ceiling selection.
Nairn's last three games of the season with Central Districts (U18s) when he moved into the midfield.
22, 30, 31 touches.

Conspiracy theorist in me, thinks a handful of SA boys and some picks will get us Butters.Come all you people and gather round.
Let’s welcome a few more South Aussies to the Hawks family!

funny how you mention about the tank, we must have had concerns about Greeve's tank, so I think we have gone with Nairn, we must see an upgrade, speed, similar position otherwise mid/fwd, we have a few already butler/macdonald, hopefully few of them stamp themselves on the game.188cm medium forward with a massive tank, strong leading patterns and good contested marking.
