I think he is rated late first round or second round.

So true but it would be good to get him... This garanteeing that Joel (our next skipper) will never leave our club. I am guessing at some point, the brothers would love to play together.
If we don't score him, i'm hoping that an interstate team does, this meaning they may feel the need to come home to Victoria and re-unite (i.e. Geelong).
I also heard that Scott is the pick of the bunch (hard to beleive with the talent of Joel) but he may be worth a serious look. Afterall, Geelong are the family club!

The is more than likely a result of him beating them at everything. You are often disliked because you are good at something.
I would not read into that. All the Selwoods in the AFL seem like great guys, Joel being a fantastic role model.

Agree. After the year Joel has had, I reckon some clubs are going to take a risk on that, and take the punt that he'll turn out as good as his brother.
If he's there by our pick, I reckon it would be a good idea to get him.

No he's not, I've heard this from people also, but I haven't heard it from people who actually know. Joel is the pick of the lot, no bias, just fact. I've heard SCott is similar to Adam and Troy as a junior.

If he's supposed to be better than Joel why isn't he touted as a top 10 pick? Must be a bloody strong draft if so! Can't see it being the case. As stated though, you'd have to give him a look in if still around when we get our first pick.
In an interview a few weeks ago with the family it was stated that Joel was the one that always had the most talent and success as a junior.

I dare say Joel has punched him up a few spots because of his successes this season. I'd say he'd be well gone before Geelong get their first pick, my guess is between Pick 10 to 15 is where he'll be poached from.
Totally agree, pedigree is outstanding and in a supposedly weak draft, He is definatley worth a punt! Look at the way Gary brings Nathan into the game, and imagine another set of brothers playing for Geelong.

I heard he was not super quick - but Joel isn't either really. And like Joel they say he would be ready for AFL in his first season.
In retrospect Joel was worth no. 1 pick last year. Might be worth a pop at no. 17 for Scott if he's still around. Depends who else we've got our eye on I suppose. And we may trade up to get a better pick than 17 also.

i'm from bendigo and most people get along well with all the selwood boys. haven't heard anyone call them jerks but obviously good footballers in a small town command a lot of attention. as for robbie tarrant i think he may have a bit of his older brother in his personality.
Best of the brothers , worst of the brothers. Why not just assess him as Scott X. He was All Australian U18 . Now look at his talents , his speed , endurance etc and is he what we need or not?

the "X" is actually a "Selwood" though. What if you ask about Nathan "X"?
he's a good player, ball magnet, and smart, we need KPP's, but if he's the best availible at 17, then get him,and if it's close between him and another simliar mid, let his last name get him over the line, having Joel around will make him a better player.
if hes available at 17 we will grab him .. but he wont b - will go at about the same pick as joel - 7-9 pick is my guess..maybe higher...

As pointed out earlier Scott is not in the same class as Joel. He would not be a first round pick (even though he may go as a first rounder now).
We already have a full list of mids anyway and need a class defender and a ruckman more with those early picks.Theres no doubt having another Selwood would be great but not at too high a price.
