The clubs well positioned to take a role player in a salary dump situation and throw in some draft picks to suit.

Hopefully a club or two has cocked up a long term contract and we happily can take advantage of their salary cap squeeze.

I'm finding it absolutely ****ing fascinating, just watching how Hartley and Co are going about the build. Replicating our dynasty list.

It's like we're in the 2011 off season but with nearly all of the pieces in place that we had to wait to secure over the proceeding 5 years.

It will be fascinating to see what we do.

We've drafted with high ceiling in mind and these will likely be our high salary earners.

There arent many holes until some of the draftees actually fail.

Weve taken 5 mids in the top 12.
3 kpf's in top 30
3 general defenders & kpd in top 30

We definitely need a ruck
We might need another wing (Clarke replacement)
We probably need an elite kicking half back (lefty would be nice)

It actually feels like the last rebuild Houli, Grigg & Ivan...

All roles are pretty average salary, trade collateral type of roles unless you're looking at a Nasiah type off half back but then they want to be mids

Yep, 3 holes to fill (I was going to say, sounds like a girl I once knew, but I won't)

Someone like Kiddy Coleman as that HB distributor would be awesome.

Just missing the ruck which may come via SSP.

There's a few that probably need an upgrade like Smith, Green & Clarke due to injury. Reckon we take a 1st rounder in 2026 to upgrade 1 of them and then a couple of astute trades with a second rounder and/or future 2nd to push guys back to depth positions and we are looking good.

Outside of the old premiership guys we've still got mature guys like Balta, Miller, Taranto & lesser extent Short to fill in some gaps too for some time as well along with Rioli, HRS & Trezise. Hopper feels like bit of an odd man out and obviously with Balta & Miller it will be tough to then play both Gibcus & Gray all in the same team so will be interesting if the latter 2 develop well enough to be locked in best 23 guys.

I just hope the club doesn't go too small over the next few drafts just because the kid has pace and agility.

We are going to be losing a few bigger body players in 2026/2027 so it could allow bigger sides to push us around easier.

Yep. We could have played Sam Walsh, Jack Ross, Sonz, Retschko, HRS, Seth Cambell, Judson Clarke and NRT on the wings. Would blow opposition teams away when they have two guys trying to cover our 8 wingers!
