A pretty good chance he'd make it to Freo's pick if we didn't draft him, although they have still have taken Kickett.
Since there were only 6 new players taken in the rookie draft, he was probably lucky to be drafted at all.

The small sample size of what I saw today from him was encouraging. He’s got a pretty good build on him for an 18 year old too

Will be interesting to see where they play him, especially in his first year.

Hopefully plenty of time in the guts; we have a need there with the senior club and he'd be better supported with the Beagles by whoever of Dev, Macrae and Schoenberg is playing at that level. Would also expect some time on the wing and half forward since a teenager isn't going to play full time inside mid.

Seemed like one of the reasons he slid was that clubs weren't convinced about his quickness and burst so hopefully that can be a point of emphasis in his development.

I don't know if Trew ever had the body type to make it inside in the AFL, and that was his only position.

Fred's already a lot bigger than Trew got to even in his final season on the list, big head start. Trew had quick hands, but that's about it I think. I'm not sure he could kick off both feet either

They were similar size but Zane was taller. Zane’s issue was his work ethic/ego and injuries. But you’re right, he’s style of play was like your midfield bull but he was like lacked size as well as a tank too
